I'm sitting in New Joisey trying to decide whether to kill a day & wait for Grandview Eastern Storm or head North to see good ole Mom...
Anybody have an idea if Grandview Tuesday race will be happening? Forcast calls for rain today, stopping early afternoon tomorrow. Do they usually run under these conditions? Any clues?
I called them, just get a message...

I'm wondering the same . It's been raining pretty hard all day in New Jersey .I don't want to make the trip for nothing . Weather calls for 60 percent rain until around 2 pm

I'm still agonizing over it, but I finally talked to them, they said they would make every effort to race.
Where are you in Jersey? I'm up in the northern part right now, in Newton.
Wanna hang out? I'm bored....

I'm from Wanaque . We have a 2 car ARDC midget team that my brother and cousin drive . Our shop is in PA . So if your around any of our races stop by and say hello our car numbers are 69 and 96 . I have been around racing all my life and I love sprints winged and non wing and midgets . Long family history of racing my stepfather ran midgets ,sprints and modifieds and my grandfather was killed in a midget crash in Paterson NJ in 1946

Be careful.USAC took my money at Lincoln last year and ran. Qualifying was not complete when rain hit.no rain checks, not happening this year.

You pays your money, you takes your chances. I'm committed now, got a motel room to wait till Tuesday, hoping for the best. Rain is supposed to be earlier in the day, hopefully their track crew is good.
They were polite enough to return my e-mail & phone call, so we'll see...

Depends on who promotes the show. It would not surprise me if USAC is promoting several of these races and just renting the track.

clearly you have no idea what I would CHARGE the promoter to endure a 358/360 URCrashing challenge "race"...
as soon as i get my "money's worth", I will be outta that place like a lighting bolt - doubtful I will stay for the make up USAC after watching the undercard smack around in the heats...because my weatherman says "dry slick with lots of screwing around" may be in the forecast.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH
