MORE HEAVY RAIN FORCES RRS CANCELLATION 5/29; BETTER FORECAST FOR JUNE 5
Wichita Falls, TX (5/29/15) by DarinShort.com. No shock to the residents in the Wichita Falls area, but heavy rains have forced cancellation of the Friday night, May 29th racing program at Red River Speedway (RRS). Over 2" fell overnight, with more precip forecast moving in tonight around sundown.
With the Friday May 29th event being rained out, the next scheduled race at Red River Speedway will be Friday, June 5th.
A $16,000 purse for the event is posted and all six RRS racing divisions will be in action: Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Factory Stocks, IMCA Southern Sport Mods, Mini Stocks and Pro Stocks. Racing will fire up at 8pm.
All the weather sources seem to believe that we are near the end to this historically wet springtime. Once this next wave of precip moves through tonight and tomorrow, the forecast shows generally dry and warm conditions moving in - then we can all get back on track with racing.
Until then, be safe out there as there are a lot of flooded areas throughout the region.
