Tremendous racing? How was that possible with those too wide, locked down tires they use there? You know, those tires that make it near impossible to catch or pass another car. Must have finnaly got the track prep right and proved the tires are not the problem.

tires are not the problem. Bring back the dished wings and racing will improve.

It's gators0849 that has posted links to stories claiming the rear tires are too wide and locked down and that is the reason for poor racing. Says the left rears need to be cut back to 12" wide. But he never explains how the same basic group of drivers in the same cars using the same top wings & too wide rear tires can put on real good shows at the same track that the too wide tires cause poor racing at!

Common sense says it is track prep because that is the only thing that really varies from week to week!

Talking to a lot of the drivers, it's the racing before lapped traffic. You can't peel off and duck under someone. If there would have been one caution in the race at the Grove Friday night, it wouldn't have been as good as it was.

I've also written that there are other factors that come into play for a good race. Track prep being one of them.
