I'm gonna post the last half of an article off yahoo that I think speaks much about the subject. But honestly what I would like to know is this: Have any of you fellow hosers seen the HBO Documentary by Spike Lee called "The Day The Levies Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts" ? ? ?

If not: you need to. In terms of free time (thats not taken by racing of course.lol.slight joke) there is not a better use of it. Everyone needs to see "the other side" of the man-made tragedy in New Orleans. The people we elected and pay failed miserably........so at the very least for the people who paid the ultimate price for that you could watch this one show. Not tryin to get political here or start a bash of any sort. Just sayin any person who thinks they care about fellow americans needs to watch this film sometime. The following is about the 2nd anniversary mourning ceremonies in New Orleans of Katrina. um, have a nice day

A candlelight vigil is scheduled in Jackson Square at dusk, right around the time the French Quarter may start getting tipsy with street parties and anniversary revelers, as happened last year.

The anniversary is an opportunity for the city to recapture media attention to tell the nation what's happened to New Orleans since Katrina. Reporters, television crews and photographers have, once again, flocked to the city.

The day has also attracted a passel of politicians — President Bush chief among them. He and Laura Bush arrived Tuesday night and dined with Leah Chase, the Queen of Creole cooking, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and musician Irvin Mayfield.

Several presidential contenders, including Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, have visited in recent days.

While politicians have used the anniversary to pitch policy, think tanks, scholars and activists have released a steady stream of reports on the state of recovery.

Meanwhile, an international people's tribunal has been convened to take testimony from victims. The tribunal is being spearheaded by legal activists trying to build a case under international law accusing the United States of human rights abuses during and after Katrina.

Again people. Please watch the HBO Documentary by Spike Lee titled "when the levies broke" then you'll understand why a tribunal has been convened. You can watch it in full length on HBO On Demand. go to HBO Specials. and then to documentaries. every american - or human being in general - really needs to see it. sorry to bother ya'll with stuff like this. Just please try to watch it sometime.
