The Thunder and Lightning boys of the racing world came to Lakeside Speedway after a 14 year absence, they pretty much took up right where they left off.
Top names in open wheel racing, fastest drivers and cars without wings, and racing with that edge of your seat excitement that you don't want to look away afraid you will miss that moment that will define the races for the night.
Kansas City has always been  a sprint car meca for as long as I can remember as I head toward 73 years old. Your pulse quickens just a little when you hear the motors come to life and the race cars are sideways in the turns and one or more of the drivers are pushing the limits of the track and their race cars.
That is what this video is all about, Robert Ballou raced where few dared to try, and for his effort he came away with the win and the admiration of a lot of seasoned sprint car fans, I know that because I heard several tell him so.
Sit back and enjoy some new old time sprint racing with the USAC Sprints from Lakeside Speedway.

I spent a month in KC on business last year. I really enjoyed going to Lakeside Speedway, it is a really nice facility and if you ever get a chance to go there, even for a regular show, it's well worth the time and money. I caught the Outlaws there last June and it was a pretty good show. Knoxville rained out and it drew a few more cars down the highway. Thanks for posting the video, the USAC cars would be awesome to see there.
