KARTING SUPERSTAR ELLIOTT TO CHALLENGE SO CAL OVAL TRACK KARTERS SATURDAY!
(Camarillo, CA, March 16, 2015) Shifterkart icon and three-time SKUSA Super Nationals champion Darren Elliott is set to challenge the regulars in the season opening racing for the “The So Cal Oval Karters” this Saturday night, March 21, at the Perris Raceway. The pits will open at 2:00 PM, practice will commence at 5:00 and the first race will start at 6:00. Perris Raceway is located at 1205 Barton Road in the city of Perris.
Elliott, of Santa Monica, California, is looking forward to Saturday’s race on the dirt circuit. When queried on Facebook if he would like to compete in the event, the Factory CRG driver enthused, “"Heck yeah. I would love to. Dirt is where I come from. It's in my blood."
Including Elliott, a stout field of 32-karts is expected to be on hand for Saturday’s season opener. Classes competing on the Riverside County Oval on Saturday include Junior Junior 2 Cycle, Junior 4 Cycle, Adult Sportsman, Adult Stock 4 Cycle, Adult KT 100, Adult F200 and Unlimited. Each class will contest a pair of heat races that will determine where the drivers will start in their respective 20-lap main event. In addition to the karts, the Speedway Sprints from Wheel to Wheel Raceway will also be in action with an expected field of 20 cars.
Full access tickets to Saturday’s race are only $10.00. Fans will not only be able to watch the races, but they will be able to get an up close look at the karts & drivers and can meet with officials to explore the possibilities of starting a career in karting.
After Saturday’s race, the SCOK will have a couple of weeks off before contesting their second event of 2015 at the Wheel to Wheel Raceway on the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville on April 11th.
Saturday’s race will be the first of 14 on the busy SCOK schedule. Four of those races will be held at the Perris Raceway. The dates for the other three are April 25, August 8 and September 26. Wheel to Wheel Raceway will host five events while Perris Auto Speedway will be home to four. The Grand at the Industry Hills Expo Center in the City of Industry will host the other event on the schedule on July 20th. You can view the full 2015 schedule is at the end of this release.
