Skip Jackson (13th car out to time) set the pace in qualifications at 15.241 seconds around the famous 1/2 mile. Travis Cram (16th car out) was second quick, followed by Calvin Landis (22nd), Billy Alley (17th), Randy Anderson (6th), Wayne Johnson (29th), Mark Dobmeier (11th), Bronson Maeschen (19th), Brian Brown (21st) and Clint Garner (4th). When Lynton Jeffrey had troubles in hot laps, he took over his back-up car, originally scheduled to be driven by Gary Isom. Landis had trouble with a rear-end gear late in qualifying, but had it fixed in time to take a lap at the end.

Heskin grabbed the point early in the 8 lapper, followed by fellow rookie, Dover. Alley and Jackson battled for fifth before a lap seven caution for a stopped Antill. Heskin led Dover, Dobmeier, Jackson and Garner back to green flag racing. Dobmeier performed a slidejob on Dover for second, and was followed by Jackson and Garner in the maneuver in some wild late race action.

Mitrisin shot out to a commanding lead, but the 47 would go up in smoke on the white flag lap handing the point to Farrell. Gharst had worked himself into a transfer spot after missing the invert, and Mitrisin's misfortune handed the final transfer to Zomer.

After exchanging a lap one lead with Weuve, Logan led the distance unopposed. Early on, Jeffrey worked by W. Johnson for the final transfer, but W. Johnson got back by on lap three. A late bid by Jeffrey on Weuve fell just short of fruition.

Jeffrey led flag to flag in the 8 lapper. M. Moore coasted across the finish line, but had put enough distance between himself and Brahmer to render it a non-factor.

Hindi jumped out to an early lead. Brown slid in front of Dover early for second. Hindi stretched out his lead heading into lapped traffic about lap eight. The track had a clear top and bottom in turns one and two, and W. Johnson was working his way forward, taking third from Dover on lap seven. On lap 10, Johnson missed his spot on the bottom in one and two, allowing Dover to surge back by. Johnson had the faster car and passed Dover going into turn three. Dover had good momentum going into four, and the two cars contacted, tipping Dover over, and bringing out the only stoppage in the 20 lapper. Dover was able to change a top wing and continue, while Weuve suffered a flat late in the caution period and was unable to get back out. The restart saw Hindi leading Brown, Johnson, Dobmeier and Alley. Hindi's restart was a strong one and he was never challenged in winning his first career feature at Knoxville. Alley shot under Dobmeier for fourth. Logan and Gharst both moved up six spots as hard-chargers. With Brown finishing 2nd, and Zomer in 13th, Brown locked down the 2007 championship.

Ideus led the distance in the 7 lapper. St. Arnold's first action of 2007 saw a solid run from 8th to 4th.

Schulz took the early lead, while Kearney slid between CJ Houseman and the turn four fence to grab fourth, completing lap one. Higday dogged Schulz until lap five, when he took the point.

R. Hall had a commanding lead throughout. Meyer and Bakker, both from Sioux Falls, staged some good racing. Bakker made a late bid for second that came up short. Lenz exited on lap five. For Ball it was his first action of 2007.

J. Anderson took the early advantage. By lap four, Selvage had surged to third, but came to a stop, bringing a caution. The restart saw J. Anderson ahead of J. Hall, Heimbaugh, D. Hall and Moore Jr. Moore Jr. proceeded to slide into fourth on the restart. Heimbaugh stuck to the low side of one and two and grabbed the runner-up spot, but exited a lap later. Moore Jr., who had a great run, was subbing for Joe Beaver, who works in the electrical field and is on assignment in Chicago.

Pinegar led lap one, but Roberts got him back on lap two of the 10 lapper. Three laps later, Moyer was running tenth, when he flipped hard in turn one. He was uninjured. The restart saw Roberts leading Pinegar, Thompson, Mather and T. Houseman, but Dawson tipped over before a lap could be completed. The lead four separated themselves, though Mather did slide in front of Thompson for third.

St. Arnold led lap one, but Meyer put a slider on in turns one and two on the second circuit to take command of the 15 lapper. On lap three, Kearney ran fifth when getting sideways in turn two. That collected Higday, who had moved from 12th to 6th. Higday visited the work area and restarted at the rear, while Kearney retired. Meyer led St. Arnold, J. Hall, Dobesh, Schulz and Moore Jr. back to green flag racing. Moore Jr. made a "slide for life" and moved from 6th to 2nd in one lap and chased after the leader. Meyer was up to the task in lapped traffic and had built an 8 car length lead by lap 12, when Schulz contacted J. Hall sending the 7H upside down in turn four in a battle for fifth. Meyer led Moore Jr., Dobesh, St. Arnold and Schulz on the restart. Meyer blocked a Moore Jr. slider by entering low in turn one and sliding high into turn two, but it was negated by a Hosueman Jr. (running 8th) spin. Meyer duplicated his move on the second restart, while Moore Jr. tried the high side momentum. Meyer pulled away from there, gaining his first career Knoxville win. Mather took hard-charger honors moving up 11 spots.
