The following article was posted to Hoseheads.com on February 6, 2015...over 2 weeks ago. I just found it. Naturally, it saddened me, because I think the world of Ken and Terry Wagner, and respect everything they've done for Sprint Car Racing via their creations...Wags World, Wags Dash, Wags Web, Wags World and www.wagtimes.com. However, the fact that it took me a couple of weeks kinda reinforces Ken's statement that the world has changed, and so has our avenues for information.
You see, I used to check Hoseheads.com, SCRAFAN.com, wagtimes.com, and a bunch of other racing websites that specialized in Sprint Car Racing on a daily (if not hourly) basis...religiously...in an effort to satisfy my craving for more "current" knowledge about our sport. However, with the explosion of social media and networking, this has all changed for me. I only visit these sites now when I am sitting in front of a PC...and remember to do so without the distraction of Facebook, Twitter, etc. So, from that perspective, Ken is absolutely correct when he states that the relevancy of his site has declined substantially. That doesn't for a second mean that I have lost interest in the content, or appreciate his efforts any less...it just means that I am part of the statistic that has conformed to "modern" sources for my fix for information. I'm sad to think that this website (SCRAFAN.com) and it's Message Board will be gone someday too. It sure proves how dedicated Lance Jennings is to this sport that he continues to provide updates, information, and photos for us all to share and indulge in...free of charge...with declining support coming back to him.
Well, anyways...the main point of all of this rambling is to say "THANK YOU" to Ken and Terry Wagner for everything that you have done over the years. When you started all of this, I was just a single-digit kid picking the dirt out of my nose at Ascot, and scraping used tear-offs from Turn 1 to take home as a souvenier. It wasn't until recently that I had much interaction with you guys, and learned just how much you've done for our drivers over the years, and just how dedicated you both were to this sport.
I wish you continued health and happiness, and hope our paths cross a few times a year looking forward. Cheers...and thanks for the memories!
