Since many think one of these series could dethrone the Outlaws as the premier sprintcar racing organization which series do you think has the better chance and why? Having Todd or Tony managing big moves can, will, and are happening right now there is no doubt. I'm just curious what everyone thinks. Maybe there is another organization not listed thats up and coming. Who knows? Just dont tell me that IMCA Racesavers 305 sprints are the future.

I personally think All stars will be good but wont overtake WoO but NSL i think will be a flash in the pan and be gone in a few years.

I respectfully think you are comparing apples to oranges. The intent of the NSL and the version 2 All Stars is that they are regional series, the Outlaws are national. If one (or both) someday become true "national" series, then I think you can ask the question. Not shooting spears at you, just giving my opinion - which isn't worth much - just ask my wife!

To tell you the truth I thought so too but some said Rome wasnt built in a day. So I started think hypothetically who truely has the best shot. Just a thought for fun. The what ifs or what could be. I'm sure there is a chance one series could but like you I don't know if it is their goal.

Got to wonder why Tod chose to call his midwest, regional series the NSL. NATIONAL is in the name?

Easy logo of course.
I do not think the NSL or New All-Stars have any intention of competing with the Outlaws.
They can see what happened to USA, NST, and where the national asbs is headed.

But their is not much star power left in the WoO's,and their biggest star is sponsored by the owner of the ALL-STARS,things are different now.

Try as they may .. no series is dethroning the WoO as the premier national Sprint Car series. "Often Imitated .. Never Duplicated ... "

I would hate to see the name gone, but they kind of tarnished it when they gave the stock cars the same name in my opinion.

The whole point of most of these posts is that they're not trying to dethrone WoO, regional as opposed to traveling national tour, different niches

My list of the 10 best winged Sprint car drivers in the country
Donny Schatz - WoO
Daryn Pittman - WoO
Kerry Madsen - WoO
Joey Saldana - WoO
Dale Blaney - All Stars
Paul McMahan - WoO
Brian Brown - NSL
Steve Kinser - whatever he wants
David Gravel - WoO
Greg Hodnett - PA
Even though this is MY list of drivers, i can honestly look at it and say...I don't think anybody is topping the WoO!!!
do it in the dirt

As somone who watched races eighteen years before the Outlaws were formed I'll throw my lot in with the Sprint Cars. Seems during my life time, and this is the same with all classes, not just Sprints, the cars and drivers were the only constant but the signage on the victory lane banners has changed many times. This is probably why the old guys and gals think "whatever" rather than argue the merits of sanctions.

The top 4 in points from the NST year are still with the Outlaws (Schatz, Dollansky, Saldana and Pittman). Plus they have added Johnson, Sweet, Gravel, Madsen and McMahan since them. I think they are still doing good.
The problem with the NSL or All-Stars challenging as a new "national" series, is they have to have car owners that can support it. Tony can get Schatz to go and maybe the KKR teams, but he's got to have something different to offer in my opinion. Things seem pretty good for the WoO teams right now, so why rock the boat?

Unless Stewart or Quiring were willing to do joint ventures with a bunch of tracks to help raise the purses, I don't see any of the top guys moving series. The NSL is a great idea, but it's based on the premise that the point fund will attract the drivers to follow it, the base purse for an event is less than half of a normal Outlaw event. Same w/ the All Stars, who seem to be content going back to a regional (no farther west than Wisconsin, no further east than Central PA) concept.

let me ask a question based on tony stewart owning all-stars and schatz's ride along with others. Why would tony want to pay for a racing operation to race in his own series? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of making money? He would be paying his own operation to race in his own series at a regional level rather than at a national level. Also it would look extremely shotty for him to promote and put his cars and drivers in it. I guarentee people would be screaming that it would be rigged. Anyways I just don't see tony taking his cars out of the world of outlaws when there are destroying the competition and are taking in the large sum of the winnings.

Either could grow to be something National. Ted Johnson made a couple of attempts before the Outlaws. "The Racers" is one name I remember Bob Trostle talking about. Bob was at the first Outlaw race back in 78 and said, "..course we'd raced for Ted before so we didn't think nothin about it..." Bit of a plug for his autobiography which will be out spring or early summer. "Life's Tough On the Circuit". Haven't set up website or pre-order yet but will.
