Can anyone shed some light on this? Which tracks/series/sanctions require you to run the same RR tire all evening after qualifying or heat races?

Knoxville 410s have to run the same rr all night unless it's damaged or you had to run the b main, 360s can change theirs.

They talked about changing the 360 tire rule to match the 410s this year but it didn't go through, so 360s will still be able to change theirs throughout the night.

In some cases it is a good thing however there are tracks that are very abrasive and one tire will not make it all night.

It saves the well funded ones at least $200 a night but the biggest advantage may go to the underfunded teams. Some can't afford to put new tires on every race and it gives them a better chance to compete.

So say team A an underfunded team races 20 times a year and through cycling tires they can get through a season by using only 13 RR tires by using used tires for heat races and putting on a new RR when starting in the first 3 or 4 rows of a feature. if a team went to a race track with a used RR tire and was required to use that tire the whole night, they are putting to chance that the tire wont hold up the rest of the night. While team B buys 20 new RR tires with a new one on every night doesnt have to chance the tire being used up as much as team A with a used tire to start the night.
Team A spends $2600 on RR's to just "Play Ball"
Team B spends $4000 on RR's to be as competitive with anyone else with a RR tire rule
Im not advocating one way or the other, just putting it out there to look at.

If a tire rule saves money for the race teams just think how much could they save if they only had to have 1 particular type tire to run anywhere they went. No ascs medium or H series just the same tire for every sanctioning body.
