This is my fear everytime I go to a racetrack. That this clown (winning drive) or someone like him will sit next to me. Had to get up and more before because I get a moron sitting beside me. Had a guy like that sit behind me at the chili bowl and it got real agravating having to listen to him all night.

If whining drive dosnt want to catch flak for his absurd posts he should stop posting or back up his BS with some facts or at least a convoluted idea of how the hell he is going to come up with an incentive plan for home engine builders? Are you kidding me? If this was the first or second or even third time he had posted this shit it would be one thing, but he has posted the same open ended observations countless times. Do you think the Drivers in the BOSS series will not get caught up in trying to make their cars faster for the 2015 season and faster yet in 2016? Speed costs money regardless of the purse, Ive watched fathers spend money they did not have trying to win a plastic trophy at a kart track, you want to talk about poor return on your racing investment. All these generalities about fixing 410 racing are nothing more than hot air. Here are some more generalities based in nothing. I think all 410 races should have larger purses,I think all chassis manufacturers should stop producing chassis and all teams should build there own chassis from scratch, I think all teams should have the same exact budget so no team can "buy" a win, I think tracks should hire bands to play between races or show a movie to entertain us and do more for the fans. i think pit passes and admission should be free, I think Don Ott should sell his motors for $5000 and not a penny more, I think concessions should be higher quality and bigger portions but cost less, I think there should be peace in the middle east. I think there should be more money in my checking account. Notice I didnt explain how to get these things done or even offer an idea, just telling you my opinions on what should be done, we will let it up to someone else to figure out all those pesky details, but damn it would make racing better. Bottom line, at this point everyone on this board knows winning drive is not satisfied with the racing he sees except the BOSS series, we get it now just STFU about it already.

He isn't old and senile. His thoughts were “a little off" back in the late 90's and early 2000's when he ran Pa Posse fans association. I remember standing there when he was talking to my friends mother bitching and whining about the same shit he does now and even as a kid, I thought what the hell is this guys deal anyway? If it's really that bad, stay the f*ck home dude. Then when she finally pried herself away from him, I remember her saying what a pain in the ass he was and that he always does that. I'm sorry but you can't come to this message board or any other and post incoherent crap like that and think that people aren't going to call your bluff. So if he's butthurt over it, so be it. I think you just like him because he supports your theory that Pennsylvania fans are a bunch of loud mouth morons who wouldn't know a rational thought if it kicked them in the ass, which couldn't be further from the truth. Just a couple of idiots who give the rest of the 95% a bad reputation.

I really don't know who or what you are referring to about me when I had the former association , which I did for fun and to always help fans . I have never bored or whined to anyone and guess I have to detail everything out for all people on here in facts or be more precise in my writings . Pa fans are not loud mouths or morons as you call them in relation to the other person , I don't think he thinks of people that way .

It's a shame that most people on here lump everything together, such as promoters. I mean, come on people, they ain't all the same!!!
Also, 305's are bringing new blood into the sport that may or may not move up. But, more sprint car racers is a good thing, isn't it??
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Please ignore Bob Altman (winning drive). He rambles on so much I don't even think he knows what he wants done. It really is pathetic.
|
I DO KNOW WHAT I WANT DONE , BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN , because people will always do what they want instead of listening to people like you or me who attend events. There are only a few track persons or promoters who actually listen to the fans and they are Bob Miller , Steve ONeal ,and the fair board of Port Royal, Charley Paige in central pa but I'm sure people will disagree with this too . That is ok ,everybody has opinions or thoughts . That last thought was from personal experience over the years in dealing with the mentioned people .

Well you say you have to detail things out for people but you sure as hell haven't done it yet. I asked you to lay out all the details about your proposed home built engine incentive program and still more of the same......NOTHING! I'm convinced you can't do it because you have no clue how to do any of the things you want to see done, if you did, you'd state all the details about what changes you want to see and exactly HOW to achieve them but you don't. I'm also convinced you can't read either or you would've seen that I specifically said that 95% of Pa fans are good people and the 5% of the idiots give them a bad reputation. So, let's try this again.....what SPECIFIC incentive(s) do you think should be offered to those who build their own engines and what SPECIFIC measures do you propose to keep people honest and make it impossible or at least extremely difficult for them to lie about who built their engine? Remember, explain your proposal using SPECIFIC DETAILS......

Oh now i get it, your taking credit for the improvements at Port and Selinsgrove? Those guys listen to your requests and put them into action? really? Which things did you talk to Port about that have been changed? What did you tell Charlie at selinsgrove that has been changed or improved to your standards? Please Please Please respond, I need to hear about how they listen to you and your ideas.

Lol and the Bob Miller thing has been beaten to death. I get the impression that if Guy Webb had responded nicely to one of his emails or calls he would consider him a great promoter too. (for the record Bob Miller for all his faults is much better than Webb).

Yes ,there are only so many cars , so many owners , so many team members . And again we find many good drivers out of rides in PA for one example and I 'm sure others elsewhere . Teams can't keep up with the costs . Its already happening that promoters are looking for lower purses to pay , and larger car counts . I have my thoughts on what may happen , whats your thoughts ?
|
Nothing wrong with 410. Reduce compession to 13 to 1 and smaller inj. stacks like 2 3/4 in max. This will not lower cost of engines, but they may last twice as long. These are also easy to tech. These also do not cost much as they put new pistons in engines all the time and stacks are cheap.

It would be nice to see a large race somewhere in the central part of the us that was co sanctioned by all the 410 wing groups could be a huge car count.

Well if you would quit starting treads ASKING for others thoughts & opinions we could not waste time responding and would have more time to do positive things for the sport and all the fans like you do. Which consists of posting "I know how to make things better" but not ever saying exactly what you would do to make everything better.
You bring on all the negetive comments yourself.

Oh, sorry one other thought , I AM DEEPLY SORRY THAT I OFFEND OR UPSET SO MANY PEOPLE , I am a very passionate fan who cares about racing which has been such a major part of my life since I was 13 . I do many things to help , make kids , or fans happy and have spent countless dollars of my own money to do so at many events I 've done at tracks which includes sponsorships , giveaways ,and other things I've done to support racing and all the people surrounding it . I want no credit , i do it cause I like it doing it for the people who love the sport.

I'm impressed. I have taken countless people to their first race. Paid for their ticket & food. I buy 4 extra tickets to the Knoxville Nationals so I can take friends and their kids each year. All 4 nights and they have to pay for nothing. Not even t shirts if they want some. I have paid fuel bills for drivers and sponsored drivers. I have helped crew on cars that were short handed.
My parents started taking me to jalopy races when I was 4. I am 59 now and can not remember a summer in my life that I did not go to races every Saturday night. When my local paper did not cover racing I reported for 4 tracks every week at no expense to the paper just to help out those tracks and try to get more fans.
I use all my vacation from work to go to races.
I have over 500 driver t shirts as well as many track & event shirts. I have no need for so many but buy them just to help a little. They will all go to the NSCHoF when I die. 3/4 have never been worn. The NSCHoF is in my will.
You are not the only one who has done things for racing. But I thank you for what you have done.
But you anger people when you post you know how to make racing better and the fan experiance better but never say exactly how. At best you just give general ideas without any real details. Thats why you get blasted.

...........and waiting........................waiting.......................waiting.
The only things fans really need to experience is a well, run program with (hopefully) full fields of cars. There doesn't need to be a half hour (or longer) intermission or a bunch of crap in between races for "entertainment". When one race is done and the cars are pulling off the track, I want to see the next race going onto the track.

If every track had a few more 'Oswalds' the sport would be in much better shape. A fan that gets it, I remember some engaging conversations back in the day at Knoxville. The only scary part is that he has been on the planet a lot of years and most of the great ones have, sprint car racing is more than desperate for new blood.
PS It doesn't help when our youngest stars leave to go parade racing either.....

They would be fools not to take the money, not saying they shouldn't, merely observing what is happening, is that easy enough for ya'?
