Set To Pay Largest Pre-Point Fund Purse In Series History!

Tulsa OK (January 22, 2015) – To say the past few racing seasons have seen the AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series gain steady growth one step at a time would be a fair and accurate account of what the regional sprint car series has encountered. There have been added racetracks, new sponsors, new fans and special programs for the race teams along with a steady dose of public relations work to gain additional notoriety within the motorsports fraternity.
There were also occasions when a few extra dollars got tossed into the purses for the traveling teams. Thanks in large part to AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories, the new title sponsor for OCRS, there will be multiple events on the 2015 schedule that will see extra cash up for grabs which by season’s end, will account for the largest ‘pre-point fund’ payout in series history!
“We can’t thank Corvan Robison of AmeriFlex enough for the support he has provided our series;” said OCRS president Barry Grabel. “Not just for what AmeriFlex is doing beginning in 2015, but for what they have meant to our series since they came on board a few years ago. I tell ya, those are some very special people over there. OCRS looks forward in broadening our relationship with Corvan and his staff at AmeriFlex for some time to come.”
The 14th season for the AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series is set to get underway on Saturday, March 28th at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore Oklahoma. The teams unloading for competition at the season opener will compete for a take of $1500 to win and $250 to start. That’s just the appetizer.
On Friday August 28th, the sprinters trek to the Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha OK where the return of the previously held ‘Harold Leep Nationals’ will take place under the newly named ‘Harold Leep Classic’. The winner will bank a cool $2000 with $250 available to each starter of the feature race.
“We ran the Leep Nationals for a spell and when the track (Outlaw) was going through managerial changes in 2013, OCRS didn’t hold an event there that season. It is with great honor that our series restores this event to honor Harold. We wish to thank Chris Smith (OMS promoter) for his cooperation in restoring this event.” Additional information honoring Leep at OMS will be announced during the coming season.
The AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series will be at the Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada OK for the 9th Annual Oklahoma State Championship race. This season, the OSC race will be sponsored by Dooling Machine Products, which has facilities located in Wynnewood Oklahoma and Hartford Illinois. Company owner Joe Dooling is a Chili Bowl winning car owner having won the prestigious midget race in 2014 with former USAC champion driver Bryan Clauson. The team had a solid top ten run in the 2015 Chili Bowl.
“ We are ecstatic about having Dooling Machine Products on board to sponsor one of our biggest events,” exclaimed Grabel. “I have known Joe for a period of time and he doesn’t allow his name to be used just anywhere. To have Joe give his blessing on sponsoring one of our events is an honor that we will be forever grateful. We are looking forward to putting on a great show on his behalf as well as for our fans.”
The event is now billed as the ‘AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series 9th Annual Oklahoma State Championship Race Presented by Dooling Machine Products’. The event winner will collect $2000 with teams earning $250 to start. Additional money has been added to the other top five positions as well.
Every AmeriFlex/OCRS event that has a special purse assigned to it will have a starting pay of $250. “We must thank all of our track promoters for working with us,” stated Grabel. “They are another key reason why our series continues to prosper. We couldn’t ask for a better group of promoters than what we have in our series. We all work together for a common goal and we are pleased to work hand in hand with these fine people.”

April 11th: “Open Wheel Saturday” - Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha OK *
April 18th: Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway in Caney KS
July 17th: Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt KS
August 22nd: Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina OK**
August 29th: Longdale Speedway in Longdale OK
September 19th: Tri-State Speedway in Pocola OK

Three doubleheader weekends have been selected for drivers to vie for bonus cash payouts as well. The Top 3 Drivers accumulating the most AmeriFlex/OCRS championship points in each of the selected weekend doubleheaders will share in a $1000 bonus payout. The driver with the most points in a selected weekend will earn $500 in cash. Second receives $300 and third collects $200. Cash will be divided among any drivers tying for the bonus positions.
All weekend doubleheader events selected for the $1000 bonus cash payouts will also pay $250 to start the A-feature. The selected doubleheaders are:
Flint Creek Speedway (5/15) & Salina Highbanks Speedway (5/16)
Monett Speedway (6/12) & Tri-State Speedway (6/13)
Red River Speedway (7/31) & Lawton Speedway (8/1)
AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series officials are working diligently on other possible bonus purses for the season. Those details will be announced as they are warranted.
