OFFER MADE...UPDATE #3

1/22/2015

UPDATE #3 - STRONG RUMOR - (1-22-15 @ 10:25 am CST) - I've been told that the Renegade Sprint organization is calling a driver meeting to inform them of what is going on with the series as well as with the All-Stars. With the purchase of the All-Stars comes a reunification between the two series. Along with that, I was told last night that Brad McCown (owner/promoter of Atomic Speedway) has switched the seven Renegade sprint shows back to three All-Star shows. It is looking more and more like this split will be resolved before the racing season begins in Ohio...still hearing this will most likely be finalized after the All-Star shows in Florida.

What happens with the dates that overlap? Memorial day weekend, 4th of July weekend and a big race at Fremont and Selinsgrove all have conflicting dates. Should be interesting.

There's plenty of time to sort race dates out. It's only January. The tracks will be happy with just one series so they will cooperate.

Someone's gonna get screwed out of their date(s). Probably the tracks that have the Renegades scheduled.

"a reunification"????   Didn't know they used to be unified at someother time......  Must have been before my time...Put 'em all under one roof & let's go.

Be nice to see them push one of the speedweeks back or forward and have all star/renegades come in for PA speedweek.

I'm sure once the deal is done, we'll know. It would make no sense to start putting little tidbits of info out there when there's still deals being made and issues that need resolved. This deal is ugly enough. The last thing they need is the rumor mill to be stirred up more than it already is.

I have some real strong doubts of this. Selinsgrove has always been treated as an unequal compared to Port Royal, Williams Grove, and Lincoln.  If there is any truth to the rumors of purchase and reunification then somebody is going to get screwed.

i'm not a fan of the all stars and to be blunt i hope none of the drivers go back to that series, some things just need to go away and find a whole and die off.  The all stars series is one of these things, it now has a bad reputation and the renegades series has so much promise, so why not allow something new begin rather than killing it off?

The All Stars doesn't have a bad reputation,  Guy Webb does.

Yes trecraft, you are right. But the other poster does bring up something to think about.

In my mind the All Star name is kind of stale. The series has stagnated for quite some time. I don't think it a stretch to can the name and start over. If the rumors are true, add Tony Stewart's name to it. Tony Stewart's Renegade sprint series. Or, if you keep the All Star name, call it Tony Stewart's All Star Renegade Sprint circuit....or something...

Whatever happens, breath life into it, and move towards less travel and more money for the teams and drivers. Add a few marquee events, make it mean something.

I agree 100%   Since it was a racers series under Bert Emick and Wife.  The series went to hell even if there have been some racers trying to put on a show.

That whole reginal thing killed many big long standing events they once had and WEBB coulda cared less.

I agree  with alot what has been said by all whose been on here, I would like to see a fresh start , some new ideas , stay within 3to 4 states , keep down the teams expenses as much as possible , provide 11 to 13 cars per show as it has been promised . Eliminate  any of the past memories of  Mr.Guy  Webb who has made terrible comments about the hard
working  great drivers who supported him over the years of his All Star circuit. I know these rumors will all die and a press release  will come out to  let everyone know what's going on with Florida around the corner .

Stop, just please S  T  O  P.  I catch myself reading posts and before I know it, I realize it is yours and I get pissed because that is 1 minute that I will never get back.  The next time you say something that has anything worth reading, will be the first time.
