"GOLD CROWN" MIDGETS NOW LABOR DAY WEEKEND! SPRINTS ADD OCTOBER DATE AT KENTUCKY LAKE
One new date and a rescheduled date for 2015 capture the headlines as USAC's 2015 racing schedules continue to sport new looks.
Race organizers Kevin and Tammy Gundaker are excited about the 2015 "Gold Crown Midget Nationals" at their Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. Their excitement stems from the move from October to the Labor Day weekend after weather adversely influenced the events in recent years. This year's Honda USAC National Midget races will occur on Friday and Saturday September 4 and 5.
Defending champion of the Gold Crown Midget Nationals is Christopher Bell, who claimed the 2013 title. Last year's event succumbed to rain.
AMSOIL USAC National Sprint participants can look forward to the first series race in Kentucky in 16 years and the first on dirt since 1990 when Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City hosts the Sprints October 17. The last series race on Kentucky dirt came at Comtrax Motor Speedway in Glasgow and was won by Jack Hewitt.

I realize that Tri-Cities is half a content away from Calistoga Speedway, but I sure wish USAC didn't put major events up against it's own Louie Vermeil Classic, which is scheduled for Labor Day weekend for the eighth consecutive year. The Vermeil race is by far the biggest race remaining on the USAC Western States midget calendar. Now, a handful of top shoes will have to choose between two of the very few good-paying midget races.

Typical USUC greed!!! Half a continent away or not this WILL have a major impact on drivers decision to race at Stoga. Good job USUC! Why don't race teams band together to give these self serving clowns the boot once and for all??? Ridiculous no matter what the spin is from the USUC puppets.
Cheers!

True Kunz cars have been making the tow for the last couple years.
Now what?
Well I hope they make Calistoga $20,000 to win each night and really confuse people.
Once agin promoters / sanction bodys who ever spliting cars and fans is a lose lose.
There was 326 midgets in 1 building last week.
Do it right and cars and fans from all over will come have fun.

Rico's schedule has come out and he WILL be racing at Calistoga at the LVC. USAC National officals are total bunch of jerks.

They do this all the time.the west coast drivers are like red headed step children.they take our money and make themselves look good with higher payouts to the national drivers.

It's really good to see Rico has Calistoga on his schedual ,and he's running both Midget and Sprint agin this year.
This means Keith must be planning on having cars out here, and probably back there to with all the equipment they have.
Talk to Dave Darland and he says he really would like to make that weekend at Calistoga, but USAC always has races aginst it back in indiana for labor day.
I told him there's only 1 way to get a win at Calistoga. You need to run there.
Hope more make the decision to run the Louie Vermeil at calistoga on Labor day.
