Looking at the schedule for the Renegades in Pa. most of the dates are a one day show with alot of travel involved,How many of the twelve drivers signed up will travel eight hours for a one day show when they can race at home and not have to deal with the posse?
Are the benefits of being a member enough for them to make the trip?
I hope they do ok but I thoght they would schedule a two or three race trip.

This is their first full season and i'm guessing they had to pretty much schedule where and when they could. If things work out this season I would guess they'll work better on scheduling multiple events in the same area if they can.
There are some rumblings on a few other message boards that there could possibly be another Pennsylvania track going Renegade too.

My estimate by half way through the season the Renegades will be down to 5-6 full timers. when guys have a chance to run local vs traveling 6-7 hours to race and not make the A main you will see more guys leave the Renegades.

That won't be anything new really, guys always think they can do a tour. When the real cost of racing shows up and they realize they don't have the money and are not making what they thought, but they are at least trying.

I've said this before, but I wonder when the thrill of sticking it to Webb wears off, how many followers will there be?

prople forget how well the Outlaws get paid in tow money vs. penalties if they don't show up when it is time to race against the Posse...and go home with a fraction of the money they win in parts unknown. this math equation doesn't change just because someone other than Guy Webb is setting the schedule.
this is the same reason our local guys do not tow across the state for races when there are plenty of race nights scheduled locally.
bustin @ss across the highway from one event to the next is not racing...it is cartage.

Not to ruin mythology with facts, but of the approximately $450k paid out by Central PA tracks in the 8 Outlaw A Mains contested in 2014 (which equates to about 30 local show purses that the locals stay so loyal to rather than travel with the "circus") , approximately 50% of the A main loot was won by card carrying Outlaw drivers, despite the fact that they rarely make up more than 25% of the overall field. Shocking really.....

I guess I am still waiting to hear what the Renegades are going to be offer to teams as far as tow money (how many teams qualify for the tow money), point fund (do you have to compete 100% to get it), membership fees, insurance, etc. Still many unanswered details from the Renegades IMO.

So far the brain trust of the Hoseheads forums have predicted Williamsgrove would be shut down from the Westbrook case, wrong. Also predicted Tony Stewart would be sued in a cival trial for the accident in New York, wrong. Have predicted that 410 racing was on its last leg for the last umpteen years, wrong. Predicted that the Outlaws would fold up especially with the retirement of Sammy and Steve and other various reasons, wrong. Predicted that shark racing would never make it the whole season with the outlaws, wrong. Based on that track record I'll wait and see before I write off the Renegades or make assumptions about how far and how many drivers will travel to race with them. Im sure you guys all know better or at least think you do, so let the hate flow my way I dont mind

I'm too tired and lazy to do the math, but curious nevertheless, so maybe you'll indulge me. What does that 50% get changed to if Gravel finishes 2nd at the National Open instead of 1st? I would imagine that $50,000 payout skews things slightly.

so you are saying outlaws take home less than 50% of the purse when they race other places?
the 2014 results on the WoO website does not appear to support your claim...

They need WG and 1 of the Saturday tracks to get on board so they can have a 3 race weekend when they tow in. It's a fair question as to how many will actually tow in to race 1 night and there are lots of questions still with the Renegades. However I think the ASll-stars are even more of a question mark at this point. At least the renegades have 12 drivers "signed up". Do the all-stars have anyone signed up yet? 5-6 cars is more than what the all-stars brought at the end of last season.
