A huge thankyou to Mr Barry Waldron & Steven Green for resurrecting Sydney Speedway (Valvoline Raceway) from the ashes.
What you have done for speedway fans in Sydney is truely remarkable. As a race fan is is fantastic to see the best drivers at the countries best Sprintcar track.
Losing is natures way of saying you suck.

When did the name change from Parramatta City Raceway to Sydney? PCR was Australias number one race track for a long time (sorry Warrnambool) back in the day. Nothing but great memories from that place and I saw many, many shows there, David Lander was a great Promoter in his day.....

I want to second Mr. Dick Darstardly. The changes at Valvoline Raceway (aka Parramatta City Raceway & Sydney Speedway) this year are fantastic. As sprint car fans we owe a lot to Mr. Barry Waldron & his team for investing in the facility and turning it in to a first class operation.
I plan to be at VR next weekend for the Scott Darley Challenge and I am really looking forward to it. As I indicated in another post that I made, they already have 71 410's registered for the event. Just getting in to Saturday night's 'A' main is going to be a challenge.
To MSPN I believe that the name changed from PCR to Sydney Speedway with the previous owners about 3 years ago. Valvoline now has naming rights for the facility so the name has changed to Valvoline Raceway. Valvoline has been a supporter of speedway racing in Australian for many years and of course they have been a long-time sponsor of sprint car driver Max Dumesny.

Great news, I know Stephen Green is back involved, that's always a plus. This track always was a treasure from my experiences and a lot of that had to do with the people that worked there. The infield fire crew, the office staff, officials, all of them were special people who loved what they did, got to know many of them the two summers I was there. Have a great season!

Hey PCR Fan - Not sure who gave you flack for supporting the speedway in Sydney. I love the sprint cars and I have been working in Sydney for the past six years. I have attended the races whenever the sprint cars were running.
While many great improvements have occured this year, I have also seen some great racing over the previous five seasons. One year ago we had Steve Kinser, Kraig Kinser, Dale Blaney, Justin Henderson, Jason Sides and Tim Kaeding racing at Sydney Speedway. That was a pretty solid line-up running against some of the best drivers in Australia !
The fire and rescue crew at VR are top notch !
