Beleive the Larson/Marks car finished the season off with Cool Chassis. Danny Lasoksi has also ran them at times. Madsen won a few Knoxville Champion ships in them as well.
The popular chassis brand goes in waves down under. A few years ago everyone was on the J&J wagon, Then they jump to Eagle and know it appears the majority are back with Maxim.

Yes the Cool chassis is the best known "down under" at present. Over on the west coast Geoff Murphy has been making the Murphy chassis for years and years. Not so many drivers are running a Murphy sprintcar chassis these days but he also produces them for speedcars (midgets) and formula 500s (micro sprints). There have been a lot more Aussie builders over the years but now it seems it is easier to import them from the USA. Same story with engines - a few Aussie builders around - Maxwill, KRE, Kendrick - but a lot get them direct from the states.

While your on the subject of Aussie engine builders,I have noticed over the past few years that Allard was running the Maxwill motors in the 0 car & believe that they still run them with Kaeding, also noticed that Sides has been running those Inglis motors which are also Australian

Importing don otts, giving them a freshen then selling them as your own creation isnt really engine building. how good has Sides been this year with his new engine package.
KRE is one of the most innovative engine builders around & would easily compete with the top american builders. shane stewart had a kre in the 57 a few years ago & schatz loves them when his down under. I think Mcfadden had a kre with him on his visits stateside. Maxwill is a very good engine builder aswell with a few engines in the states.
There is a few more chassis builders other then the cool & murphy. Theres the QT or quicktime made overseas like XXX, bhr razor, foster chassis very well built but not alot around. mungrel chassis a copy of a eagle.
There are other chassis builders but there not usually more then one made.

I believe the Cools are just a copy of Usa design. Nothing innovative

FROGSHIT! i think the deal is that the original cool chassis were a copy of a Danny Lasoski Eagle????? I think that Cool chassis will build whatever you want theses days if you have a big enough name over here. Madsen, Tatnell, McFadden, all very smart operators, I dare say they don't buy straight off the shelf

All the cool chassis are the same 88/40 or 87/40 tall cage. Thats all he makes. I can't see how they copy any other brand they look nothing like an eagle or a twister. The cage is completely different to any common brand. I know our team has one & used one last season. There a very mellow car to drive.

I believe that the Cool chassis designed and built by John Cooley in Warrnambool, Victoria has been very successful.
Brisbane area racer Alan Woods has also developed the Quicktime chassis. There are a few of these being used and James Thompson has been very consistent last year and this year using the QT.
The nomination list for the races often shows the type of chassis being used the each team. I believe that the most popular chassis right now at VR is the Maxim. Max Dumesny Motorsports is the Maxim dealer for New South Wales and Max's support probably helps Maxim. Max is also the Hoosier Tire dealer and he is also one of the top 410 competitors in Australia.
I have attended many races at PCR/Sydney Speedway/VR over the past six years. I have seen teams run really well with just about every chassis that is available including Maxim, JEI, KPC, J&J, Cool, etc.
There are also comments above and in another post about engines and horsepower. I don't believe that having 950 HP at 8500 RPM is going to win races at VR. The track is 480 m or 0.3 miles. An engine with a wide torque range is more beneficial.
There have been 45 to 50 410's in the pits at VR for every event this year. There are probably 15 to 20 teams each night with the equipment and experience to finish up front. I believe that being on the podium at the end of the night is far more dependant on the setup and the driver than on the chassis or the engine builder. That's why I enjoy the races at VR so much !
