does anybody on here know why knoxville moved there show up a week this year

It's the way the calendar falls. Nationals has fallen on this week before and will again at some point.

Historically looking back at dates, the Saturday of the Nationals falls on August 14, 15, 16, 17 way more often than say the 9th or 10th. It's landed on the 14th more than any other day, 8 times.

I don't know if it's an official policy, but I believe the rule Knoxville uses is that Saturday of the Nationals will always be from the 9th - 15th. Once the calendar pushes Saturday to the 8th, they move it back to the 15th and start the cycle over again. I'm not going to say they never alter from this sequence, but you can pretty much use it as a rule of thumb when planning future Nationals trips.
In the past when I was a teenager I'm pretty sure I remember Saturday of Nationals being on the 17th or 18th before, but now with schools starting earlier and earlier in August I think Knoxville tries to ensure Nationals are run before school starts up so I think as late as they will ever let the Saturday of Nationals run is the 15th now.

It is ran Wednesday -Saturday of the first FULL week of August now. Years ago it did fall later but you can bank on it being these days if you're making plans.

2015 August 1st is Saturday. Wens - Sat of first FULL week of August is 5th - 8th.

I think it's supposed to be the 2nd Saturday in August, this year with Saturday falling on August 1, they moved it to the 15th. I could be completely wrong however.

Maybe with Eldora putting the Kings Royal back a week in 2015, Knoxville had to fall in line like everybody else did to get the traditional Month of Money dates in.
