Heard a rumor that there's been racing scheduled for Sedalia for next year. Anyone know any details? I assume the lawsuit is finished? Thanks.

The ASCS National Tour has a race date scheduled for the State Fair.   This is taken from the ASCS web site.

A track last visited in 2007, Missouri State Fair Speedway will see the series return on Sunday, August 23 with a $12,000 check awaiting the night's winner.

Given what happened last time they raced at the track, I was surprised that this is how they came back.   The first race back being a big paycheck is something I was not expecting.   I know nothing about the status of the last race, nor do I know if the fair board is going to have someone help them promote this race.

No biggie, but the last race I saw there was ASCS, and it was in 2011. Brian won it... beat Dude at the end.

Anyway, it's be nice to see them come back to Sedalia. Of course, it would be nice to see the track modernized, also. A guy can dream.

And that's a TON of boot to the winner.

Last race I attended at Sedalia was a WoO race that they delayed for an hour waiting on smoke to arrive. The biggest thing I remember was 1) kasey khane was supposed to be there and after we bought tix they announce it was a miscommunication and he wouldn't be and 2) all they had was drought bud and old Milwaukee and both were Luke warm.

You were not at the bud tent. Get pass out tic and go across the street. Talked to my buddy today who runs the Bud tent, they will be trying to get rid of their kegs so beer will be cheaper than normal......Also, State Fair is trying to finalize contract for NSL 410 only show?......ASCS already has MSF on schedule for August 23.....premature?  Stay tuned...

Ascs also has the short track nationals on the schedule and that isn't a done deal Apparently. In fact, the Ascs has the dates for it wrong.

I really hope they make that $12k show at MSF an NSL event.

I dont care which series it is... I cant wait to get that last race there out of my head. Why not a ASCS AND NSL race? I know the National Tour is probally out if the NSL is in, but they could still bring in the Warrior Region or whats left of it.

Anybody remember who won the last race there when it was a mile track?  I do, lol....It was the first place Tony ever won with a wing on, his 360 car.  Anybody know where Tony won his first 410 race or where he had his first official winged ride?  Answers.....

Tony's first winged ride was at Parramatta City Racey many years ago in Peter Craft's car.

I went to my first race at The Missouri State Fair in 1955, saw Bobby Grim driving the black deuce offy.  That track is still my favorite race track.  Glad they are racing again, before I get too old to walk.

Andrew, (Mr. Australia) I should have known, you are correctumondo!  He ran the heck out of it for a few laps and then flipped it pretty hard.  The car looked like a Hienz 57 dog, all parts were from different cars I think, pretty funny looking and trust me he was hooked when he got out, one of the biggest smiles I'd ever seen.

Randy Martin, a kid from just down the street (highway) is the correct answer for the last mile winner at Sedalia.

Did not get the answer for the first winged race Tony ever won, that was a fun night also, same with his first ever 410 win, come on Hosers.....

I grew up within earshot of the track, almost could see the grandstand fom my house south of town. First time there was in '68. I remember some of the cars didn't have cages yet, NONE of them had wings and some of them were BEAUTIFUL.
