Whats up with Guy Webb canceling  the show at WCS? I dont think he is in a place right now to cancel shows when he does not have any commited drivers to his series. I was just wondering if there is anyone that can fill me in on how this guy gets anybody to sanction races when he cant promise them any drivers. This still baffles me especially at Port Royal, and Williamsgrove Speedways. Do they have money invested in Guy Webb?Smile       If so I'm thinking thats not a wise investment. wink

Bingo... can't say for WG or Port, but it sure seems that Farmermont has some skin in the game... I've never seen a track put out a press release for another track that scheduled a sanctioned race... let alone offer tow money for their locals to attend???

But the huggers on pit gate say this is done all the time... I call BS!

Maybe he should have let that news actually come from the ASCOC or Plymouth... LMAO!!

Been talking to alot of drivers and WOW they are well aware of "Farmermont" stunts.  Never heard of any promotor acting in this manner.  He cries about a series taking away locals then he tries to take them out of Ohio himself.  He should have stayed out of that one, but just cant help himself.

At least Jason asured himself of a good car count.  He works hard as many promotors do and is a honest person.  I seen several tweets from drivers who are showing strong support for WCS.  Best of Luck!

A lot of tracks probably schedule them because they know that the all stars will bring in crowds because of the "casual fan." Not sure a niche market has a casual fan or not but be that as it may, in the Ohio/PA region, the all stars usually bring in around 40cars and fans that do not pay that much attention to what is happening know in the past if they see All Stars scheduled at a track that they will see a good car count. Fremont stands the most to lose if the the All Stars go down because they typically get the most races out of the year and their crowds are larger than a regular night and typically they make good money on those shows. Do not know if there is any more interest than that, probably is, but I think WCS did the smart thing in trying to schedule both series and seeing which one was better. In the end, the tracks stand the most to lose.

this whole deal is a game of egos, nobody really cares about doing anything for the betterment of the sport, the fans, etc.  Guy Webb made some of his followers upset last year and the Renegades were started.  Farmer got upset the Renegades were pulling his weekly cars and he is now helping co-promote a race in Indiana to support the All Stars.  When it's all said and done, there are plenty of other races to support until these jerks hash it out and quit going at each others throats.

I don't know all the details and I won't claim to. Guy Webb has obviously pissed off a lot of people and with good reason. If the reports we hear are true about some of the stuff he's done (and by all accounts they seem to be), I don't blame the teams one bit for deciding not to support him. Unfortunately it looks as though the situation has transcended the 2 series and has begun to divide the entire Ohio sprint car scene and that's sad for all involved. I've never been to any of the Ohio tracks but I know you guys have some damn fine racers and some awesome racing and I hope that whatever direction this whole ordeal goes, it somehow makes things better in the long run. Right now it looks pretty ugly though. I just hope nothing like this ever happens in Central Pa. It goes without saying that sprint car racing, especially on a local/regional level, is best for all involved when everyone works together.

Did anyone really expect the All Stars to just fold up the tent and pack it in when the Renegade group was annouced? When a track like Eldora sticks with the All Stars, that says volumes.  Guy Webb may be the devil to everyone on here, but it doesn't seem like he and the All Stars are going anywhere. I think this is a long way from being settled.

For the record and this is THE TRUTH...Webb did not PULL shows away from WCS. Promoter there had a contract in front of him for weeks. He did not sign it and instead signed on with the Renegades. Ironic this whole pissing match STARTED during the rain delay at WCS last year.

I think the pissing match started way before the rainout!

Am I the only one who does not care one bit about this situation? Seriously, if the Allstars and Renegades disappeared today, as a fan, I could care less. The allstars have been weak for years other than a few drivers. I have seen no major increase in fan count at their races, and the car counts increase because of the purse increase not because the allstars sanctioned the race. I suppose they have some history that matters to some fans but other than that, who cares.

No, not the only one.  While I do like seeing new racers at the track, I wouldn't miss them.  Always thought they had the worst format too.

I do care. How could you not? We need 410 sprint racing in Ohio and surrounding states......with former WOO drivers.....and a Knoxville Nationals Champion....and with a winner of the biggest prize-money sprint car race ever held.....and with drivers who can beat the WOO guys.....and we need races to go to with this kind of quality when the WOO are not around for months at a time....and we need 410 races to go to when the All Stars are "Thundering through the Plains".......

no nerf, some people can't see the forest for the trees.  I'll turn this around on him: I could care less if the racing in Central PA dissappeared today.  It means nothing to me in Ohio.

There really is sprint car racing that exists beyond a 50-mile radius of Harrisburg PA.  I wish the All Stars and Renegades would not run in PA at all, and use those dates for other Ohio tracks....or better yet, the PA guys would come west - beyond the handfull that do once or twice a year. Wasn't someone on here the other day asking the Renegades to please not schedule a race that goes up against the Nat Open?  Guess someone must care!

I believe you are starting to see the end of Guy Webb and possibly the All Stars as well.  I have heard some of the things Guy has pulled over the past few years from this message board and a a driver/team and it does not bode well for an organization to be run in a non professional manner.  Grant it, I do not believe everything I read on this board, but when it is backed up by someone in the sport and his information goes beyond what we a reading.....you make your own conclusion.  It is mentioned that Eldora has stuck with Guy Webb, but earlier in this thread, It appears Guy tried to get Wayne County to exclusively book the All-Stars and it backfired on him.  That is my take on the post.  I really was skeptical at first about the Renegades starting from scratch, but I have heard nothing but positive feedback from this board, racers and fans and they don't seem to be going away.  Quite the contrary, this organization is building steam and building steam fast towards possibly making a dominant statement in the world of sprint car racing in the very near future.

If all of the things I am hearing are true and witnessing the direct actions to spite the all stars  by the Renegades....Bert Emick as the Grand Marshall at Atomic and directly booking a race at Wayne County during All Star Speedweek....wow, Guy must have really P.O'ed some people big time!!!  I would say it may be only a matter of time before there are no All-Stars.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but are they not referred to as the One Star as of late?

Thanks Larson, I appreciate your comments......do you remember when the PA guys used to come over to Ohio and race....and win alot! Bobby Allen, Steve Smith, Dub May, Paul Pitzer, Kramer Williamson? Gosh, I hated those guys when I was a kid because all of the races I ever attended, they beat Ferkel and Linder and Beaber and Blaney and McGilton......Ha

And for the record, I care about PA racing, it is all intertwined. I am just so far away from it to be passionate for it like I am for Ohio.....but you are right, it should matter to them...to every true fan...

Will Guy Webb in 2015 mean "All hat and no cattle?" Ted Johson could pull this stuff but Guy doesn't have near the pull Teddy had.

LP Jazz,

Yes, you are right, Guy must have really p' off some guys. And now he is alienating tracks!  Gosh....

In effect, the Renegades ARE the All Stars, as far as most of the teams and drivers who will be following that series. Look, I hate this whole thing, but things don't get better unless someone takes a chance...so let's just wait and see what happens...

I do know that there will be more choices for me and more races for me to go to this upcoming season. One of my frustrations has been the lack of good 410's around Ohio. Sometimes there are spots in the WOO or All Stars schedule where there is not a race in Ohio or closeby for a month or so.....and I could use one at least every other weekend!

I don't buy the argument that the casual fan won't recognize the Renegade name, and therefore not go....I believe the casual fan comes along with the fanatics/family/friends, and wherever there is a big race, a bigger event, more money being paid, the better cars, that is where the crowds will be....the knowledgeable fans will know....

I fear the schedules. If they don't schedule against each other, I think it will be okay, but if they do, that will be rough....

In any case, I hope it all works out and eventually the dust will settle....but the question is, what or who will be the deciding factor of who survives and who doesn't? The tracks, the schedule, the race teams, the fans?

When did I say i could care less if Ohio racing disasapperared tomorrow? I am talking specifically about the Allstars or Renegades, and the Allstars race quite a bit in PA and I personally wouldnt miss the Allstar races in Pa at all. You are acting like the Allstars are the only Sprintcar racing in Ohio. You act as if the drivers would quit racing if there was no more Allstars, I think the reason someone didnt want a renegade race against the National Open is so the Renegades could race at the National open, thats why they cared. I never said no one in PA cared about the Allstars, just me, my opinion, no one else. Larson fan, you are my biggest fan!!!! you troll my posts and get your lil panties all in a wad over what i say, Thank you for caring and following along Pal

It seems to me that the only way Guy Webb can put a show on is to sanction races where they already run 410 sprints. Because without the regulars that show up there would not be a show at all.I myself give our great fans alot more credit and think that they just dont show up because of the name and the glamour. And thats all that is left of the All Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe anybody in there right mind would pay a sanctioning fee to see Guy Webb and his All Star officals show up without a team of drivers and owners.
