I think its only fair to fans to make the World Finals a 4 day show , because they have the right to see 3 actual days of racing , not one day of qualifying due too huge car counts of the combined 3 divisions ? what do you think ? I know people will disagree with me , as they disagree alot of my candid opinions . But I really don't care , I would just like to see you get more for your bucks .

My opinion, the World Finals are a great deal price wise. We usually just skipped the 1st day and still felt like we got our moneys worth. Leave it as is.

So, you want them to expand to 4 days and charge you more $$$ to get in? They aren't going to add a day of racing and let you watch it for the same $$$ it costs you today (in response to your: "But I really don't care, I would jult like to see you get more for your bucks" comment.
If anything they need to continue to raise the purse. $12,000 to win with $1000 to start is not a huge purse for the amount of fans in attendance (even though they are paying that out for both classes). and I'd guess that Brian Brown maybe broke even (or lost $$) when you consider the # of miles traveled, hotels, wear and tear on equipment, and he WON on Saturday Night.

World Finals this year were awesome! Racing was great and the track couldn't have been better considering how worn out it gets!

I know, weren't those races terrible, I mean we only saw late race passes for the lead in every division, 180+ cars in the pits, and sold out grandstands on Friday and a completely sold out grounds on Saturday. I feel so underwhelmed by what I saw this weekend.
And man those sprint cars just can't pass anybody, I mean Schatz only came from 25th to 4th in 18 laps. Yes he is a great driver with the best crew chief, but all it proves is that it can be done.
It must have been a couple of weeks, because its time for the same poster to post the same stuff again. If you didn't care what other people had to say you wouldn't post it.
Do you really think you would get more fans and more drivers for a four day show....that is at least another day off work for the people with jobs and for the non-tour guys, another day of costs being away from home. They had 56 sprints in a part of the country where there is not one local car. Except for the concession prices, which are the same as they are for the NASCAR track unfortunately, there is very little about the World Finals that I would complain about. If you don't like the qualifying night, don't go, or just wander the pits for awhile. The races were awesome, the crowd was insane, and the quality and quantity of the field was unreal considering its the end of the season and some guys have packed it in. Could the purses be better, probably, but as was said, they are paying a full purse to three divisions. Even the mod purse is about 40000. The drivers show up, and seem to really enjoy the event, and the fans come out in droves, so this is not really the race to nitpick. When the worst part of the weekend is getting out of the parking lot after the races, that was a pretty good weekend.

add 5 or 10 more laps to the sprint race and leave it alone...no reason to take another day off work and invent a way to add "screwing around" to the exising schedule.

Not complaining because I wasn't there and didn't buy the PPV but I have an observation about Saturdays sprint stuff. 5 Heats, the D,C,B and A-Main as well as the Dash all won from the Pole, YIKES!!! Has this ever happened before anywhere in any type of racing?????

And yet, in the A there were two passes for the lead in the last three laps, as well as a car coming from third to almost sneaking into victory lane on the last lap....and as was already noted a car coming from the back after a spin to 4th between lap 8 and 27. There were a couple of banzai runs in the heats as well. Hodnett came from 7th to I think 3rd in his heat and and I think Shane Stewart made a big run from out of a qualified spot in his as well. The most unusual thing to me for an outlaw race was that 2 of the top 5 in TT didnt' qualify through their heats and got stuck in the B (and started up front so they were going to be hard to pass), and missed out on the dash because of it, that is a rarety these days. There were two grooves, but there were also fast cars up front, so yeah passing was at a premium, but the races seemed pretty exciting to me. Maybe I just don't expect much out of the D C and B unless there is somebody who obviously has a great car, but has a problem and gets stuck running the alphabet soup. There were outlaw regs and other good cars in those races, but none that showed in TT or heats that they were going to do much.

Thanks for all the comments , I do appreciate them , no its not my job but I enjoy reading your opinions . You are allowed to express how you feel as I am allowed , even though obviously most of you don't agree with any of my opinions. It is not my intention to elevate costs for anyone , and it would drive up the costs for all concerned . But I do believe you should see more sprint car racing , not just in two days. Ok , it was good in most of your opinions , but then you appear to like the WoO OUTLAW brand of racing , which I don't , even though I have much admiration for all the drivers . I personally think they over charge for there racing , I would rather see either local winged racing or any non-wing racing , which appears to be taking a surge in groups popping up .
I know you will disagree on this point , but I believe winged racing could be improved in many ways but we won't see it because everyone is satisfied the way it is , as shown by the tracks are packed and the drivers like there locked down cars . I also have alot of concern to see what is happening in the way of winged sprint car racing , but alo of you don't . I know or think I know what to do to control costs and make the racing more exciting to give you more for your dollars , but they won't listen to you or me ,because the governing group has all the answers , so they think I guess . Regardless of what you think of my thoughts or opinions I care about everyone of you out there , i know you probably don't care that I care . Thanks again for your comments , thoughts , opinions and I am glad you had a great time at the World Finals .

I agree that the cars are too locked down, but i think people love the speed inches from the wall.

It's expense enough for all of the teams to go there. Why add another day of expenses plus making people take another day off from work. It's the greatest event going right now. Why cahnge it?
Winning drive...you act like you know so much about the workings behind the scenes of running a dirt track and you have all these ideas to make it so fan friendly. Why not lease one for a year? You'd make a killing !!!!

Where do come up with this stuff man !! How would you go about stretcting 2 features into 3 days of " racing " ??
Would you run only 25 laps of the Modified & Late Model features then stop the race, bring them back the next day for their final 15 laps ? Then run a full show on saturday ? Do you really think these questions / comments thru before posting them ? They paid out probably over $200,000.00 in total purse between 3 divisions for my $85.00 ticket. I'm freaking ecstatic for the value I got. The racing in ALL 3 DIVISIONS was maybe the best I've seen in many years. I pay $40 to see a local Outlaw show alone, not 3 divisions.
Look at this way : you pay $40 for a Super Dirt week Modified show, Then $40 for an Outlaw show, then $40 for a Super dirt Late Model show individually. That would be $120.00 total x 2 nights = $ 240.00
I get all that for $85.00 and a free night of time trials and D mains if I want to watch ( which I did )
If we take your view , I get the same thing but get to lose another days pay ( or use an extra day of my vacation ), pay another nights hotel room fee, pay for breakfast , lunch and dinner again plus rental car fee for another day ( I fly down )
I get the same amount of racing but get to spend Aprox. $260 in added cost for the same show.
Is any of this sinking in to make sense to you ?

When you buy your tickets you know what the show is. It's not like they are telling you there are 3 full shows for each class all 3 nights. So why do you think fans have a RIGHT to see more races than they pay for?

Why offer solutions when they don't get acted upon by the powers to be , most fans are satisfied , I am not ,that is why I don't patronage WoO RACING . Its the same racing over the years , oh sorry it has improved some , but wingless racing still steals the shows , only because the driving is in the drivers hands . But do respect all the drivers , i just don't respect WRG RULES , FORMATS OR EVEN THERE MARKETING . Yes , things can always be better that has been my main point , sorry if I bored you with my comments .

What is with the silly spacing in all of your posts? It makes them very hard to read/take seriously.

This shit is hilarious and pathetic at the same time!
Winning drive aka "Whining Drivel" goes on and on daily about the quality or the lack thereof for the WoO racing but then says he doesn't patronize WoO events since he doesn't like their style of racing. What the hell?? Then why post about shit you don't care about? You'd rather go watch Buck Local Yocal at the local shithole track instead of attending a race with the most professional race teams in the business. Fine, thats your loss and you won't hear any complaints from us about you and your grumpy attitude staying away.
I like ALL forms of sprint car racing winged, non winged its all good. Neither style is ultimately superior in the end. On any given night an event can shape up to be a barn burner or a crappy feature. I don't care either way, I'm still going to attend and enjoy the hell out of sitting at a dirt track amongst friends drinking cold beer listening to loud roaring motors at full throttle.
I'm sure you're just an irritable old man so I will hold back ridiculing you any further as elders deserve some measure of respect but please do yourself a favor and stop with the grumpy old man routine.
Cheers!

winning drive is obviously Race Fans Direct a.k.a. Bob Altman...the guy that has been ranting and complaining about events, speedways, sanctioning bodies, etc. for years.
Any race fan that left the World Finals feeling short-changed or disappointed in what they saw needs serious help. It's an amazing, affordable event with tremendous racing. Whether you like WRG/World of Outlaws or not, you can't criticize what they've done and how they've executed this event year in and year out.
