Funny how this board lites up like a Christmas tree from the Sprint car fans when there is news like parking is going up $1.00 at the PAS or sodas and hot dogs are up a quarter. But look at all this good news about the Oval Nationals....Purse...Car Count...great field of 360s Thur nite with some big name drivers...big field of 410s Fri and Sat. Big name drivers...top 12 to 15 in USAC natl points along with the best from CA and Az...AND YOU NEGATIVE POSTERS HAVE NOTHING TO SAY ?????? i don't get it......

I am not really sure Scoreboard. I can tell you that I am looking forward to watching Brody Roa wheel Lee and Norma Leonard's famous #48 in Thursday’s 360 Oval Nationals. Friday and Saturday will be even more exciting with the stellar field of drivers signed up for the 19th Oval Nationals. Brody will be back in his familiar HD Industries #91R and have his elbows-up for the 410 portion. Yes, I am excited!!!

The more Facebook is accepted, the less activity is found on message boards. Likewise, the more Twitter, Instagram, etc. are accepted, the less activity is found on Facebook, MySpace, etc. Times, they are a changin'...

Well, after Trophy Cup, and the Cotton and then Jimmie's last show, I'm kinda glad to stay home. Now to decide which Nutcracker to go see. There are usually a bunch of them in the LA area. If you like controversy check out the main Hoseheads board. Them Posse cats really have a blast jumping all over each other. As for our board it's dominated by PR flacks. Nice thing about Facebook you can cut out the flaks.

Very much agree with Doug. BUT... one of the nice things about this forum is that it's far less likely that what you put on it is being used by a bunch of robots to send you targeted advertising every time you go on your favorite "news" site... as well as more "sinister" stuff. Additionally, the hoseheads forums are better set up to maximize delivery of the far more detailed "wheat" one comes to them to find out vs. all the relatively abreviated "chaff" (=and= advertising "noise") one encounters on the increasingly marketing-driven deals in the course of trying to find what it is one went there for. Let's hope "the (hoseheads) wolf" survives.

From Nipomo (SMS) we are waiting to see who is the new promoter. Ruben made it official last Sat. that he was not returning, which was not a surprise as rumors had been circulating since last summer. Our dearth of sprint cars was evident in our schedule thus we have hopes of a sprint car increase next year. I am surprised that his departure has been so quiet both on SCRAFAN and Late Model racer. Barely a whisper has been heard. We have hopes that the Memorial day Nationals return and that more races are scheduled with USAC, kING OF THE West and the West Coast 360 sprints, once a mainstay of sprint car racing at SMS. Promoters meet in November so hope someone is named before they meet.
