First of all congrats to Ryan Smith. Before all the banter starts. What do the Outlaw fans think of the new Port Royal Speedway. They sure hit one out of the ballpark tonight.

Yes congrats to Ryan Smith ,a great win , but again Port Royal shows me why it is the best facility for fans in Pa . Track has been good all season , they think of the fans more so then the other tracks , and the list goes on and on in my opinion , but I know others will disagree with this .

I think Outlaw and or visiting fans probably liked the facility but we're probably disgusted by the "fans" in the infield chanting negative comments at the second place driver.

The only time I ever felt a tinge of guilt around here was when Schatz chopped Montieth and flipped himself down the backstretch at the Grove and someone from Beer Hill threw a full can of beer at him while he was still trying to get his wits about him. Last night at Port they just nominated him homecoming king compared to that...lol.
Hell, Rahmer came after a fan across the chain link fence one night at the Grove...lol. Schatz has never actually got into a fight YET...lol.

I'm Posse, but some of our members need to chill.
I'm AOK with chanting Posse. Being outright disrespectful to somebody just because he and his crew are a tough combo to beat is pretty sad.
Let's put it this way. My 10 year old daughter who was with me at the race last night asked me "Why do they hate him? Did he do something wrong?" Hell of a question when you think about it. The guy is hated for doing what you are supposed to do as a racecar driver.
Cheer for your guy, be happy, hoot and holler. Let's not be ugly though. I realize it was only a small vocal percentage that were ugly but it looks bad on all of us.

Just because it happens in "other sports" does that make it more acceptable? The answer to that is no. To think otherwise tells us you subscribe to that mentality.

If I were Schatz....I would be happy. You know the old saying about racing...if they are booing you must be doing something right. I don't like seeing him win, and love seeing him get beat (especially in PA) but I will never have anything but respect for him as a racer and for the greatness of his team.
He has a great team and crew chief, and can adjust his driving to a racetrack better than anyone else out there right now. And the guys who run with him say he is one of the cleanest racers out there. Before you bring up the Montieth thing again, everybody has incidents once in awhile. So the answer to the question of "what has he done wrong?" is "He wins." Just like Kinser once did, and Earnhardt, and Rahmer who until 2012 was mostly hated in PA. Like Hearn in Modifieds and Bloomquist in Late Models. Hate on him now, but you are going to be missing him when he is gone.
I am all for PA Posse and was on my feet cheering when the checkered flew at Port Royal, but last night was getting a bit ridiculous...I couldn't even hear Ryan Smith's interview in victory lane because the chanters wouldn't shut up. Thank God for Ryan last night, because without him the Posse had a pretty poor showing, but it was a feel good night all around, even with the few idiots.

More whinng from thin skinned fans from parts unknown...I walked to VL, down the steps and congratulated Donny on a good run...posse pounded the outlaws again.

And thank you for proving what a complete and total d bag you are Cubic. Boos are one thing, chanting "Donny sucks" is another. I don't think Shatz gives a damn about the chanting, the guy made rock star money racing a sprint car this year, It makes PA fans look bad, just like cubic d bag makes himself look on here. I just don't like shameless redneck drunks representing what Posse fans are all about. If you reread read my first post that's what I said, not that I felt sorry for poor Donny Schatz, 6 time outlaw champ with 26 wins who has made hundreds of thousands of dollars racing this past year, I think he will be ok.

Grow up! He's risking his life for our entertainment.

People get all wrapped around a axel with the way Posse fans act....I've seen WORSE at AHL Hockey Games...
Has anyone here ever heard 20,000 people chant B*LLS*IT at the same time? I have...Many times...At MINOR League Hockey games...What is the difference here???
Get out and go to some other professional sporting events and you will see worse. If ya don't like it...Sit in the family section.

OK, last time for the slow people on here, I wasnt offended by the chanting, I have been to other sporting events where large groups of A holes chant BS at the Refs, very classy. The thread asked what people visiting Port for the first time thought of the event. I replied that they probably loved the facility and the race but were probably offended by the idiots chanting Donny Sucks in victory lane, especially if they had children with them. Dirt Race fans from the rest of the country already think we are a bunch of backward ass idiots, chanting "Donny sucks" just helps prove that they are right about us. If you think chanting Donny sucks is OK, then that just proves what a low class fool you are, but hey they do it in other sports so it must be OK.

My comments weren't directed at you Stagger - They were directed toward the folks that get on here and everywhere and love to complain about the Posse passion certain people have...
#1 - I 100% respect what Donny is doing. He is the freaking man...2 more laps and that was Donnys race.
This goes on all across the country!! I'm not saying its ok..Its entertainment, Its passion, Its booze, Its whatever.
Enjoy the races....

Right on, I agree and love the passion its part of what makes Pa so special in dirt track racing, just dont like giving the posse haters more reason to hate, that all, have a good one!

As I posted on the other message I would of liked to have seen how high Schatz would have finished if he started 12th like he would have had to with the old Outlaw format.
Top two finishers in heats plus two top in TT GO TO THE DASH. That format made for better heat races and did not give the Outlaws a better chance of getting into the dash.
If Port gets an earlier Outlaw show next year they should consider the Weikert Memorial. They stated earlier this year that next years would pay $15,000. to win (looks like Blaney is the only All Star left)
