Great interview. Not every driver will admit that he lost his edge. He really seems content with this decision to retire. I first thought he might drive if an owner needed a fill-in driver for a few weeks but not now. He's ready to retire.

Excellent interview..Met Sammy when the Outlaws came to Winnipeg Speedway back in the early 80s..Quite the character..Always rode impeccable cars that were very competitive..He won two Outlaw shows in Winnipeg during their visits..One for sure was in the Nance 1N..A good honest no bull shit guy who told it like it was and if you didn't like it too bad...He will be missed on the circuit but admitted he's lost a step..Good luck Sammy and thanks for the memories...
