Way to go!!! schedule at race against the Dirt Classic. Make the guys choose between $20,000 or supporting the Renegades.

The only driver who would've been at Lincoln that won't be now is Danny Holtgraver. And he might've gone to Selinsgrove for the 360 show, who knows.
These tracks are 4 hours apart. Both will have nice fields of cars. I'm pretty sure races have been run against each other on the same night in the past in the world didn't end.

I think only 1-3 drivers would maybe have gone to Dirt Classic.
Most of those guy are running in OH and western PA mostly and plus if they wanted to go and race for $20,000 to win race. They would not have given the promoter their name when this flier was made on 9/4.

Nice start. 30 cars? Wonder how many of these guys will travel on a regular basis. Don't see many of them traveling to central Pa or any further west than eastern Indiana. Looking like the 'Renegades' are going to be basically an Ohio series?!? Thoughts?

Railfan, it looks to me like the Renegades will focus on Ohio, and also some in Western Pa, Michigan and Indiana.....where most of these drivers and teams are based.
I think one of the reasons for this group popping up is that the other series, in recent years, continued scheduling more travelling than majority of their drivers could afford to do?....and so racing for point fund money became a struggle just to get to some of the races far away?.....So I think the Renegades focus is to have more races for $5,000.00 to win in the 4 state area than are currently being run, and at the same time allow the teams to be closer to home and cut expenses....

I can see this race taking maybe 8 drivers from Atomic Speedway saturday night. That might make a low car count there.

I know its a long way from Atomic to PPMS but there is still 8 drivers that normaly run at Atomic on the list that wont be there saturday night. I would imagine they will be lucky to get a full field. I hope I am wrong, there may be some outsiders come in to check it out before the OWC. I will still be there.

It a shame this race comes up the same night as the Dirt Classic , but they should support the new series . The Renegades will run in Ohio , Indiana , Michigan , Western Pa , and Central Pa . I would think about 13 may travel with them to further distances , no more long tows other what I mentioned . Three good races in PA Lncoln , Selinsgrove , and Pittsburgh Motor Speedway , WOW , the big car count will be at Lincoln , and the smaller track will make Lincoln a good race except there may be alot of accidents , tight track .

13? LOL More like 3(same as the all-stars). I doubt that PPMS will draw 30 cars as that is a HUGE, no passing, motor track. Who are the renegades and why should we support them?

How many might just drop this & run that Midwest series. Sounds like that is where the dough is going to be for no more races that they are running.

I was told that is what they hope to bring to each track where they go ,by Danny Holtgraver' dad . They have some good ideas for teams , fans and owners . They are basically made up of Ohio , Indiana , Michigan and Western Pa drivers . No group can really afford to travel that much , the new group in Midwest if formed will not travel out of there area either that far . Costs again are hurting all teams , and trying to keep up with each other to be competitive .

I have no doubt that PMS could have 30 + cars. And there will be more than 3 cars following the renegade sprints. To answer your question on who the renegades are....they are a group of drivers from the Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area that are tired of the way Guy Webb is treating them and running the All Star Series. It has been mentioned on this board and in the central Pa. newspapers on how Guy owes Hodnett money. Well, I spoke with a team recently, who is involved with the Renegades and there is a lot more than just the money he owes Hodnett. This new racing series, the renegades, all came about earlier in the summer when the All-Stars were at Wayne County Speedway and multiple waves of rains showers came through as they were trying to get the race in. To make a long story short, the drivers felt that the conditions were not safe and it was told to me that Guy Webb told the drivers the only All-Star he needed was Dale Blaney. If this is true, and I have no reason to not believe it based on the source, then I hope this new series forces Guy out of the sprint car business. I also hope that the current renegades stay away from the all star races to force Guy Webb out of business. This will probably be the hardest part because some of these guys are full time racers. The All-Stars were once an outstanding series and still can be. Their big shows include the Florida Winternationals and Ohio Sprint Speedweek and these events will be hard to skip when you are a full-time driver. Hopefully, the fans will also support the renegades to make things better for sprint car racing.
