Josh Schneiderman – Farley Top Five!

(Bill W) September 18, 2014 – With rainouts and cancellations lately, it’s been tough for Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 team to find races.  Last Thursday, Josh competed at the Farley Speedway in Iowa for the first time, and came home with a top five finish.  The West Burlington, Iowa driver will now focus on Sprint Invaders Season Championship night August 27 at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington.

The event at Farley was held in conjunction with the Yankee Dirt Classic.  It was the first time that the Sprint Invaders had seen its 3/8-mile configuration, and the first time that Josh had run at Farley. “We thought we had a decent racecar,” he says.  “The track really threw us for a loop.  Considering all the rain they had, it was slick.  We just weren’t as good as we needed to be.  We struggled with some side-bite in the racecar and with some forward-bite, but we haven’t seen a whole lot of the slick racetracks this year.”

He would run second in his heat and fourth in the Dash.  “It was a little weird,” says Josh.  “There were areas where the track did have moisture that it got rough.  It was just tough for us to get going.”

He would start outside row one for the main event.  “We were running second there for a while,” says Josh.  “We had actually reeled in the leader (Ryan Bowers) right before lapped traffic.  We thought we had a shot at him.  The traffic just didn’t go the way we needed it, and then we had a caution.”

Several cars vied for positions two through six and Josh would checker fifth.  “I don’t know if we had a tire seal over or what, but we never really got going the same after that,” he says.  “We were good enough to hang in there for a top five, but we just weren’t good enough to challenge for a win.”

He enters the Sprint Invaders Season Championship second in points, but just four ahead of the third place driver, Tony Shilling.  “We’re planning on preparing for Burlington the next couple weeks, and then focusing on next year,” says Josh.  “We’d like to end our season with a win.”

Had the pleasure of sitting in front of the Schneiderman "fan club"  at the Nationals this year.  Good folk!
