Tony knew he was racing the #13 for position. And it sure looks to me like Stewart went from the bottom of turn one to the top of turn 2 in one move, and chopped the #13 - a slide job. I don't think anyone can say Stewart was oblivious to the #13 having an issue and bringing out the yellow - which I'm sure was called immediately over the raciever for all to hear. Plus, as Stewart was idling down the frontstretch and turn 1 under caution, surely he saw Ward's car in turn 2 and saw Ward on the track. Yes had on a black suit, but it had reflective triping on it.
Before anyone goes ballistic on me - especially the Tony Stewart fan club members, I am not saying FOR ONE SECOND Tony tried to hit him on purpose. But I am saying I believe Tony is partly to blame too. Just my opinion.

Very close to what I've thought from the start except the slide job part. Tony knew there was someone outside of him though and it was, now you hear him, now you don't, then the yellow... A no brainer really.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Whether or not Tony knew Ward was pissed at him or even knew he was on the the track, how many drivers expect someone to be close enough to get run over by multiple cars? Had the guy in front of Tony hit him (which he has said almost happened) or the guy behind Tony had hit him it would have made the local news and maybe the racing message boards for a day during which time people would have said Ward made an unfortunate mistake and it would have been forgotten by now.

Listening to the DA's press confrence. Not Guilty of any charges.
Some VERY intresting details have come to light from the DA that I will not post.

IMHO the marijuana in Ward's system had ZERO affect on his actions or the outcome and should not have even been mentioned. If it was cocaine, some prescription drugs or steroids (legal or not) it would be worth mentioning, but reefer had no affect.

wondering if the time has come for drug testing at dirt tracks?
if that turns out to be the game changer for the grand jury, testing might end racing altogether in Colorado...

a few things here
first, the only reason weed was mentioned is because a reporter asked.
second, no one ever blamed weed for any cause in the incident
and third but most important, you don't have ANY IDEA if weed affected ward in any way that would contribute to his actions. weed can mellow people or it can make them frustrated. it can reduce your self control and inhibitions or it can make you more introverted and reserved. so you really don't know what weed might have or might not have contributed.
so go smoke another one, and think about that.
to indy and beyond!!

Kid would have to be high to try to grab on to the wing with both hands as it was speeding by if the video was for real.

i'm sure someone doctored the video that shows ward grabbing the wing, for what ever reason. (sarc)

It is good for racing that Tony was not charged, but not so good for racing that Ward was found with pot in his system.
Racing has always been percieved as a red neck sport by the public.
Now it could be percieved as a bunch of stoned red necks.

The Fox News story I read said the level of marijuana in Ward's system was enough to impair his judgement. Sounds like someone is placing at least a little of the blame on the wacky tobacky.
