Not to many people want to bring up the facts. Had the young man stayed in his car, like all drivers are told to do and should do!! None of us would even be talking about this nor would it have ever happened!! This young man put everyone on that track that night in more danger than anyone else ever could have!! His emotions got the best of him and it cost him his life. Point blank pure and simple, sad but true!! jmo

And had there not been a throttle up maybe Kevin wouldn't be gone either. Who knows need to look at all the evidence for both parties involved.

in my opinion the phrase "caused another's death" shouldn't be used or throw around lightly.
we don't know that tony "caused" anything.
he was involved in an incident. the extent of his involvement in the legal sense is yet to be determined. if the grand jury thinks tony caused anything, accidental or not, that is enough to pursue charges.
but i know what you mean.

In my opinion this is going to a Grand Jury for one reason. The locals are fired up against a celebrity and neither the Sherrif or the the D.A. want to say the local boy screwed up right before an election. I may be wrong but I have heard both are up for reelection so they want to pass the buck to people who don't have to worry about being reelected.+

Are you 100% sure it was Tony's car that did the throttle up???

Everything hinges on what other drivers has said including Stewart & what has been said so far by Eyewitnesses. I stand by what I said about it not being a slide job & also Kevin's best friend said he was pinched into the frontstretch wall which is not true either.

^^^^^^^^ And apparently you think that your definition of what does or does not constitute a slide job is somehow vital to this issue.... Whatever......

You don't stay in your car after you've hit the wall and turned over, only if you're hurt and need assistance getting out. The first thing any driver does is get out. There could be a ruptured fuel cell or fuel line which of course would be a fire hazard. Now you don't go running down onto the track to show your displeasure at another driver either. If that's the point you're trying to make then I agree, obviously. Drivers involved in a crash lose their cool sometimes and this was un fortunately the worst possible outcome. IMO you don't hit the throttle driving past an accident scene under cauition either. I know there is some speculatuion as to whether or not that is actually Ton'ys engine that is revved in the video. I'll just let the grand jury make the call on that. They're the ones looking at the evidence. I've watched the youtube video twice and I don't need to see it again. It's just a tragedy for all involved, including Tony. I'm sure he didn't want this and sure he didn't intentionally try to run over a competitor.

Yes Dryslick because that has been said in accounts & I don't believe it was. If you & everyone else thinks it was a slidejob it has to be the longest 1 in history.
So I guess when this is brought up they will count how many said it was & how many said it wasn't & the highest count wins ? bullshit it will come down to what the professionals say & most that are on here including my evaluation of the situation will have no meaning what so ever. I still stand behind my take on it.
Hebing & the others in front of him will be the 1's that they listen to the most I think.
Now since I'm irrelevent I'll say no more about it.

I hear ya... I started the season with little to no fingernails, now, don't ask.....lolol Buffalo was a surprise, so was Frisco, as far as Green Bay, I didn't expect them to beat Seattle, but they made it tough against the Jets. Football, ya gotta love it....

Last time I checked it wasn't the "slidejob" that killed Kevin Ward, it was what happened afterward. Tony won't be getting charged based on whether it was a "definitive" slidejob or not.

Are you trying to tell us that the experts on the HH message board aren't going to be called on to testify?

One more post and then I'm going to stop beating on this horse's carcass. Whenever I've seen a yellow at my local tracks the safety crew always routinely does a couple things. One of them waves the cars as far as possible up or down the track from the accident scene depending on where the wreck is to give them ample room. If there is an angry driver involved a couple of guys will physically restrain the driver from approaching the circling cars if necessary.
I have watched thousands of yellow flag laps from the infield and many times saw drivers restrained from approaching the circling field. My observation has been that track workers do accident cleanup, direct traffic and in a few cases have been called on to be anger management counselors and bouncers. Nobody has discussed that piece in regard to this situation.

So if your so informed then u should have all the answers. I'm just saying need to look at both sides of the story. I have seen lots of other drivers in this same situation. Did anyone ever think if this video of Kevin jumping up to grab the wing was maybe just maybe his attempt to try to get away from that right rear running him over? have u ever seen another car come up and bang on someone out of frustration or run over someone's front tire out of frustration! If u say no then u haven't seen to many sprint races. I'm just saying need to see and hear both sides and I believe Kevin's family and tony need to be heard.

This explanation isn't even close to what you one comment said, that is why I said what I said. If you saw the video and where Kevin Ward was in comparison to Tony's car, you would know that Ward came down the track to meet Tony's car, not Tony going up to meet Ward. I stand by my statement....After all, it is just my opinion as is yours
