SAM HAFERTEPE JR. TOPS TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY LUCAS OIL ASCS SPRINT CAR DIRT SERIES FIELD

Driving the LoneStar Speedway 15h, Sunnyvale Texas' Sam Hafertepe Jr. topped a field of 38 other Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series drivers the opening night of the Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship (USNDTC) at The Dirt Track at TMS.

Congratulations to the #151 car of Tracy Denby for topping the 116-car Limited Modified field.

Even with 155 cars in the two divisions, the A-feature for the ASCS cars (last race of the night) was on the track at 10:58pm.

Best of luck to all the teams at the finale tonight! Hot laps are at 7pm with the first race at 8pm sharp. Amazing weather (for Texas in the 2nd week of September) is forecast with a high of 74 and dry conditions throughout the day.

Not a bad race, congrats to Sam, he was FAST. The show was ran much better, over before 11:30. WHY can't anyone there realize that when all the sprint cars are running the top, the BOTTOM of the track needs worked. They came out and worked the top twice???
