During this years Knoxville Nationals, Celebrate Community Church hosted a Steve Kinser Tribute. It was a great event hosted by Steve Post with guest speakers including Andy Hillenburg (OK), Brad Doty, Shane Carson and Danny Smith. We were able to collect a free will offering that raised $712. $500 went to the Grand Theater Project in Knoxville and the balance went to the Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization. Please check out the video and give us our feed back at [email protected]. We are hoping to have another event in 2015, we would love to hear your ideas on what you would like to see. Go to youtube and search "Kinser Event 8-8-14". Enjoy!

Hey Oppfan, Thanks for the info here. I was at this event live, and when we went in they was playing a recording about the Nationals and past winners. Would you have any idea what this was for sure, and if a copy could be purchased? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey Rebuider, first of all, thanks for coming to the event. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. The video we showed was called "Knoxville Nationals-Dirt, sweat and tears". It available for purchase at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. It is a great video that I recommend all sprint car fans get a copy of. Out of curiosity, what was your favorite part of the event?

I also was lucky enough to attend this tribute, and I cannot thank you enough for putting it on!! My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I enjoyed it more than we can relate.

I still wish you'd sold copies of this, but I guess that You Tube will have to do. Smile

Thanks again.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks

I was at the event and thought is was very well laid out. Nothing fancy just a bunch of good oil' boys talking sprint car racing. I would think everyone would be in favor of any of the original Outlaws at an event such as this. Thank you very much for the event.

Opp, Thanks again, I really appreciate it! I'm gonna try to order that video tomorrow. What you guys put together this year was top of the line. It was entertaining, enlightening, and very well run! As far as your next one is concerned, just my personal opinion, I'd love to see some of the old timers. Maybe a panel of them just telling stories of their adventures. Wolfgang, Ferkel, McSpadden, Shuman, Randy Smith, the list goes on and on. They all have so many stories, I could personally listen to them all 4 days of Nationals, with brief breaks for the races! Thanks for all you have done this year, and I'm looking forward to next year!

Oppfan - I attended the event at Knoxville and thoroughly enjoyed it.  It would be awesome to have 1 or 2 of these every year during the Nationals.  I would make it a point to attend.

One thing that would be better is if the people up on stage could find a story or two that they could tell in the church!  Shane Carson telling the one about racing the lobsters was hilarious!
