Ballou wins 2nd career TNT Sprint Bandits feature

Sapulpa, Okla - August 17, 2007... California native Robert Ballou took the high road to victory lane Wednesday night at the Creek County Speedway to score his second career Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless main event win. The 18 year-old charger started the 30 lap feature from the 10th position and maneuvered his way forward to lead a California sweep of the podium during Round #3 of the TNT Sprint Bandits Midwest swing.
Starting in row five of the feature, Robert put the MPHG Promotions, THR & Sons, Circle Racing Wheels No. 81 on the top of the 1/4 mile Creek County Speedway and was able to move forward quickly. A number of early cautions slowed the pace of the contest, but Robert kept his composure and was up to the top five within a few laps and on lap seven took over the lead from fellow Nor Cal native Tim Kaeding.
After taking the lead Robert had no problems and drove away from the field to pick up the win aboard the Gardemeyer Finish Carpentry, Swimming Pool Perfections, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Pro Shocks, Don Ott Racing Engines powered Maxim. The youngster’s win came over Tim and Bud Kaeding to lead an all Nor Cal podium.
Robert will finish off the 3rd annual Sprint Bandits TNT Midwest Swing with a doubleheader at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KN which begins tonight. He currently ranks third in the TNT Midwest Swing points, 10 digits behind leader Tim Kaeding and just two points behind second place Bud Kaeding. Last year Robert brought home a second place finish during the opening night at Lakeside and this year will look to bring home the $10,000 top prize on Saturday.
