Can you please explain to me how you can have a C-main with only 36 cars checked in?  Also, can you explain to me how you can run a B-main with only 12 cars?  What ever happened to the good ol' 20 car B-main.  Even with only 36 cars and qualifying 20 from the heats would leave you with only 16 cars for the B-main.  Maybe I'm just an old traditionalist but it seems as if the races are thinned out to make them last longer these days.  Any explanation so maybe we can understand it?  Thanks in advance.

There were actually 38 cars signed in, not 36.  On a track as small as Chico, larger fields often lead to crashes and delays to clean them up.  Two races with smaller fields often takes less time to run than one race with a larger field with multiple cautions.  Also, by running a C-main, we have something to put on the track between the dash draw and the dash, so there is actually less down time.  Hope that helps. . .

Hey Johnny,

Can you explain why Pittman was allowed to jump every start while on the front row without penalty?  Macedo got called back a row due to Pittman getting on and off the gas and making him jump. That was simply bullshit favortism. I recorded the feed and you could clearly see Pittman leave early on Becker and head to the cushion building a big head of steam for turn 1 which eventually gave him the momentary lead. If that wasnt favortism I know not what is.

Cheers!

Pittman jumps EVERY start and re-start.  It's the only way he knows how to race.  Of his 12 or so wins, over 80% of them come from the front row.  Brad Doty stated last week on Winged Nation that Schatz was by far the cleanest racer out there.  From what I have seen of Pittman this year, he is by far the dirtiest driver out there.  Not only does he jump every start/restart but he either completely chops a guy or slides him to pass him.  Very seldom, if ever does he just drive by them.  It's the only way he knows how to race.  Maybe that's why the Outlaws don't penalize him for it, they are so used to seeing it night in and night out that they consider it business as usual?

Ive been to about 20 outlaw races this year and I completely agree with Pittman jumping the restarts and never getting penaltized. I wouldnt label him as dirty but hes definetly not a clean driver.

It's clear that the outlaws want anybody but Schatz to win, McMann and Pitman have been jumping the starts for a good while now without ever being called back.

i dont think that WoO has anybody but Schatz mentality but I do feel that they lean more towards the Outlaw drivers on jumping starts. They do call it on them but it has to be obvious where locals seem like they are much more strict on the rule.

Can somebody explain exactly what the Outlaws have to gain by allowing the Outlaw drivers get away with jumping starts and restarts? What possible benefit would it serve to the world racing group? Please explain because I can't wait to hear the conspiracy theories.

Pittman got caught and penalized one row during Night 1 of the National Open A-main last year. Surprised the officials actually did it. Personally I think Dollansky is worse than Pittman.

For once the keyboard commandos are correct In my opinion. I think Pittman did jump the restart he got by Becker on. As far as dirty drivers, i don't think Pittman is even close to the top in that category. Happy surfing gentlemen!

Is Johnny Gibson the announcer and the flag man too?  Dang... that guy is most likely underpaid.  I guess since Johnny is nice enough to lurk and answer questions on here, he gets all of the BS and nagging thrown his way.  Johnny- I hope you make a nice living doing what you do.

While I may not always agree with him, I appreciate the fact the Johnny comes on here to answer (legimate, and not troll-bait) questions.
