With out me spending alot of time looking into actual stats. just a quick look at results. Logan is impressive on the short tracks, compared to the bigger tracks. i would imagine that it is all in the motor is that an accurate assumption? i've seen the outlaws race 4 or 5 times on short tracks this year and every time Logan has been in the top 10 and a couple times top 5. not being from posse territory, from what i've seen if he could get some money and a great motor he could be a contender?

Shark racing equipment is very inconsistent. Some nights the cars run some nights they dont even fire. I think they get by with what they have and dont have the funding to have properly prepared cars to compete night in night out.

I sometimes wonder if they actually go against the grain. On the really big tracks where their best motors are not going to match up against the other guys best motors that they go the opposite way and put in a weaker motor. On the smaller tracks, they put thier best bullet in the car in order to compete.

contrare, they have a motor in each car, no spares with them(the others are at home being freshened and rebuilt since eastern swing). They do better on slick tracks where the driver can control his destiny, not the motor thus short tracks generaly provide the slick conditions(not always but generally). I have gotten to know them fairley well this year, both Logan and Jacob are very apprecitive of what they have and don't dwell on what they don't have. Bobby does everything he can for them both. Their motors are good and strong Ott built motors. They race the best they can, Bobby has taught them how to race on a limited budget and they do well with it. As I stated, they appreciate all they have and all everone do to help them so if you like what they're doing i highly encourage to help them finicaly if you can or as simple as telling them you are a fan of the Sharks!

Chuck, im with you everytime i've seen the outlaws ive gotten to know them talk to them and understand thier situation. they are very genuine and appreciate every fan that comes to thier pit and purchases merchandise or just gives them cash to support the team. i started following them 2 years ago and became a fan of thiers this year knowing sammy was going to retire. i just hope that those 2 can get some decent funding to keep them on the tour. because they do the most with the least.

I would love to see them skip the WoO race in Michagan on 9/27 and come to Lincoln for the Kasey Kane Dirt Classic. They would be ultra competive and the $20,000 to win could go a long way for the team. And besides how many people in Michagan go to outlaw races in Sept.

Would make no sense for them, theyd lose their remaining tow money for the year and outside the 20k to win, the total race purse is about the same as a normal outlaw show.

Donny Schatz must not care about going to Michigan either.
He is pre-entered for the Knoxville Late Model Nationals that weekend. Donny only has Bloomington IN listed on his website as the only Sprint car race that he is competing in. And I doubt that he is only running the Thursday program @ Knoxville.

I have heard it said several times now and directly from Donny, he only has intentions of running the Thurs. prelim night. I would guess a rainout for the Outlaws shows that weekend may change it and allow him to run more but I'm not sure how that would work out.
My guess is he got talked into running the Nationals LM show as a promotional thing, I know when I heard him talk about it he was hoping it would help bring some sprint fans to the show as well as maybe get some LM fans to check out sprint car racing.

A true Late Model fan don't give a rats ass about a Sprinter. Been to several night the stars come out years ago & if the late Models ran thier feature 1st people ( Late Model fans ) were on thier way out.
Was at Attica last weekend & it was the same way. Hell several were clapping after the 1 heat & I said you people clap for that shit & that was exactly what it was. Kinda like playing golf because Lucas Oil sure gives the money boys a mulligan for timing fast. Then quite a few were running sprints down.

I have a feeling that deep down Schatz running his late model at this is a way for him to guage himself against national competition. I could be wrong but to this point he has ran against all local competition I believe. Nothing against the guys that race the NLRA, they are good too but I'm sure he wants to see where he stacks up against guys like Josh Richards and Jimmy Owens.

Donny actually raced in the Winter Extreme Late Model Dirt Series @ Tucson AZ this past January with an open (unlimited) engine & competed against some of the best late model drivers
With 50 to 60 Late Models each night, Donny made the A Main 3 of the 5 show that he competed in with a 7th place finish as his best finish. And he also had the fast time in qualifying in 2 of the shows.

Late model fans looks at sprint cars as glorified go karts and sprint car fans look at late models as stock car shitboxes. That's on full display at the World Finals, but I like both. Of course sprints are my favorite.

Show of hands - and I don't think it matters if I can't see them: how many people thought that the Allens would make it to July - heck,May or June - let alone September? I sure didn't though I'm sure glad they did.

I can't believe they can't even find any crew guys to go out on the road with them. 20 years ago that would never had happened. You could allows find kids that wanted to be on the road for a year or two.
