There was a thread on this on another board and we were talking about making it a weekend. Their annual Firecracker is Saturday night so we'll be camping for the weekend. That is if I can get Monday off work otherwise I'll have to leave after the races on Sunday. Vacation is granted on a seniority basis.

No, with only 18 years they call me "kid" at the railroad. Most of them have 30+ years but I worked other places until I was 38. Consequently, a lot of times I don't have enough seniority to get those days adjacent to a holiday. Summer isn't too bad though, most of them take their vacation around Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I'll probably be alright. We won't know until the list goes around in January but worst case scenario is I'll have to come home after the races on Sunday and drag myself in on Monday morning. Any racefan can relate to that, we've all gone to work the morning after a late night at the races.

That bottle cap you guys tossed into my pickup bed last summer is still rolling around back there. How can I have any credibility with the boss if he looks in my truck?
