It would be interesting to hear from the crowd pleaser as everyone is kind of in the dark as to what's going on with him, sammy and his plans for next year and maybe more of an "outlaw" schedule the remainder of the year. I heard a grumbling last week that maybe Tod Q is upset with the WoO? always nice to read and listen to your work.

Kemenah sounded like a dufus. "Wew're going to make racing more exiting for the fans and get more car owners involved"
"How are you going to do that"
"Well, we have ideas but we're not going to tell you" (Translation..."hell if I know. What do I look like, someone with an original thought in my head? All I know how to do is live off somebody else's money.)
I've heard all this crap before...

Think you are being a little hard on Kemenah. I've talked to him off the record, and he has a pretty good handle on what this series wants to do. If I was Chad, I wouldn't announce it, either. Things are real touchy in Ohio right now, and I think everyone is playing it real close to the vest.
There has also been a backlash. Lot of rumors and speculation that has been floated in the direction of the new series. A lot of it unwarranted.
That being said, we will see how this all plays out. I don't have a dog in the fight, but things need to change as far as promises that are made to drivers and what not.

umsprints.com are off the rest of the country's radar and they're doing some good things up here in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. They run both winged and traditonal (non-wing) divisions.

To bad Mccarl thinks he is better off running a $3000.00 TO WIN SHOW SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO HOME THAN TAKING A SHOT AT $50000.00 IN THE NATIONAL OPEN.
One of the area speedways should take a shot and schedule a Renegade race yet this year before the big race on the 27th;Lets see how commited those ten drivers are to traveling.
Hey Ray it was just last year that Hefertee almost won Pa. Speedweek.

Don't forget McCarl's also running for points. Why didn't some drivers out east head to Knoxville for a shot to even start in the A at the Nationals which pays $10,000 to start.
What's the purse breakdown for the A for the national open? I don't honestly know, so don't take this as a rhetorical or smartass comment.
Back to the subject. Craig is a good selection, Jason Meyers, Ian Madsen.

I think having this group travel too far, too early would be a mistake. You want to build up to something like that. The other thing is, the Renegade Sprints have to win the battle in Ohio. They have to take care of business close to home before they could branch out.

Found last year's purse for the National Open on WoO website: www.woosprint.com/results/2013-results/2407-1052013-williams-grove-speedway
Looks to me like it pays GREAT to win, but once you get past 5th place it's no different than any other WoO race. To travel from a long distance to race at it unless you are being forced to by the WoO seems crazy from a financial standpoint to me.
A-Main - (40 Laps): 1. 20S-Fred Rahmer [2] [$50,000]; 2. 9-Daryn Pittman [6] [$12,000]; 3. 27-Lance Dewease [4] [$7,500]; 4. 51-Paul McMahan [5] [$4,000]; 5. 7-Craig Dollansky [3] [$3,500]; 6. 17B-Steve Buckwalter [1] [$3,000]; 7. 39-Greg Hodnett [13] [$2,700]; 8. 6G-David Gravel [10] [$2,500]; 9. 71M-Joey Saldana [9] [$2,200]; 10. 15-Donny Schatz [21] [$2,100]; 11. 19M-Brent Marks [14] [$2,000]; 12. 21P-Brian Montieth [24] [$1,650]; 13. 48-Danny Dietrich [28] [$650]; 14. 7S-Jason Sides [27] [$300]; 15. I agree with Vande 77 the Grove should do something more than just a glorified Outlaw show for the National Open and the Summer Nationals,if they want this race to be one of Crown Jewels!!!
i am pretty sure Mccarl will not be running for points in October since Knoxville will be closed.

Not sure if Huset's will still be running then, but maybe...
The Gold Cup has become just a "glorified" race now too (which is sad). Paid $50,000 to win a few years ago, then down to $20,000 then down to $12,000 over the past 5 years.
Unfortunately the World Finals are the same, $12,000 to win (although they at least have 3 headline divisions running, so it's a lot tougher for them to pay out more, if it was a 1 division show, they could pay out a lot more to win and through the field--whether they would or not is a different story).

$12,000 for the World Finals from the Dirt Track at Charlotte... Thats a kick to the Nads from a track that could surely afford a little better pay if your gonna put the World Finals title on it. I get its the final points night but if they want large numbers of traveling non-outlaw teams they are gonna have to pay more. I had to google that payout to believe it. I assumed $20,000 min on the last night.
