Danny Dietrich took the checkered from the 11th starting position on a late race pass of Freddie Rahmer. Freddie was oh so close to capturing his 1st career victory leading 22 laps before getting caught up in heavy lap traffic where experience helped the 48 roll by on the cushion. It was Dietrich's 19th career victory at Lincoln.

A great season-high run for the local Shark racing car and Mike Bittinger. Mike led the opening lap and looked to the outside of Rahmer multiple times but settled for a podium finish.

Robbie Kendall and the 2014 Kevin Gobrecht Memorial winner Kyle Moody rounded out the top 5.

Not a lot of household names in the top 5 tonight, but not due to track conditions. There was a beautiful cushion and two clear grooves all night.

Red hot Brent Marks wasn't right all evening, struggling to a handicap spot in his heat and retired on lap 7 in the feature under caution. Cory Haas also dropped out early in the race.

Brian Montieth was involved in a caution on lap 7 and restarted at the rear and came back to a respectable 10th place finish. Points leader Alan Krimes was involved on a caution on lap 8 and came from the rear to finish 8th and maintain his healthy points lead. The final 22 laps went caution-free.

Krimes, Lady driver Nicole Bower and Freddie Rahmer took heat races in the 25 car field. Other than that nothing special, just a good solid night of racing at Lincoln.

1. Dietrich (11) 2. F. Rahmer (4) 3. Bittinger (1) 4. Kendall (5) 5. Moody (7) 6. Siegel (14) 7. McIntyre (6) 8. Krimes (8 - Came from rear) 9. Forsythe (13) 10. Montieth (9 - Came from rear)

  • Alex Bright put on a clinic in the ARDC feature using a late race caution to get by 410 regular Steve Buckwalter. This kid can drive and is showing on a local level that his eye-opening 4th place Chili Bowl run (from 14th) was no fluke.
  • At Port Royal it sounded like a great race as Mike Wagner took the checkered over Greg Hodnett, Mike's son, Logan Wagner, Blane Heimbach and Doug Esh in a 24 car field.

Good stuff, Anthony.

Reminds me of the race notes of my dearly beloved, and dearly departed, National Speed Sport News.

Keep them coming.

Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately, I'm still a full-time college student so once my summer ends (in 2 weeks) I won't be able to attend races on a weekly basis until 2015.

It might be hard to tell now, and in the foreseeable future paying back the school loans, but FORTUNATELY you gotta' go back to college in two weeks.
