Over the years Knoxville has has had some pretty damn good renditions of the National Anthem from Vocal to just Instumental but in my own opinion Knoxvilles own Katie Davis sings it with a tone and feeling that has literally brought tears to my eyes forcing me to reflect on our Countrys Past, Present & Future. This Lady sings like Butter and I love it everytime I get to hear her. I hope to hear her for many years to come. Her Beautiful voice is to Knoxville is what Jim Nabors was to the Indianapolis 500... Kind of Corny but I have to give this Lady credit where credit is due.

I couldn't agree more...her rendition is the way that song is suppose to be sang. Katie does a great job.
The harmonica rendition during the 360 nationals was bad ass as well.

She does do a great job, and I also like the fireworks coinciding with "bombs bursting in air".

Yup was there at 360 nationals. Def the best I have ever heard at any event. I tried to look up on youtube but couldn't find anything. Guess I'll have to wait till next year to hear it again.

She has such a clear tone to her voice... I agree - she does a simple, yet amazing job. She sings it with reverence and doesn't try to make it her own like so many who sing it at major events.

Without a doubt Katie Davis is THE GREATEST. It would be very nice if Knoxville could post it to their site or a link to you tube...

Just my opinion and everyone's in our section, the harmonica thing is absolutely terrible and a disgrace to the national anthem. We all dread it when Roberts annunces him and we have to sit through it.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Best I've ever heard was by the Cactus Cuties, a group of young Texas girls. They sang at many big national venues. Don't think they're still together as they all grew up but you can find them all over the internet.

She sings it the way it was meant to be sung! And she actually SINGS, she doesn't just scream into the mic like most do these days.

It's great to hear all of these positive comments about something like this! I've never heard her but it sounds like (based on the comments) I would like her style too. Between going to a lot of races at a lot of different racetracks back in the day and photographing a lot of graduations I felt particularly qualified to say whether someone murdered the Star Spangled Banner or did it justice. I've definitely heard plenty of examples of both. My all time favorite is Laura Murphy in Calistoga. She just absolutely does the nicest version of that song I have ever heard. Not over the top - just note for note gracefully beautiful. She lives across the street from the racetrack but for some reason they almost never have her sing there which is stupid to me. The first time I heard her sing the anthem at the speedway I was immediately a fan! If it were up to me she would be singing the anthem at every event there.
