Well, things keep happening with the Casey's General Stores Midwest Fall Brawl III at I-80 Speedway. Jim Ripperger wanted to do something special for the 5th place finisher in the B-main that does not advance to the A-main during both nights of The Casey's General Stores Midwest Fall Brawl III. Our biggest challenge was what were we going to call it....well, after some great thought we have decided to call it The Mike Avilla Racer Appreciation Award. There is a good story behind this name as Mike, aka Carwash Mike used to go up to random drivers after the races that either had bad luck during the night or if he thought they could use a little help, he would hand them some money. He never made a big deal about and tried to keep it discreet. Unfortunately, Carwash Mike is no longer with us but his giving spirit will live on with all that knew him. We are currently up to $310 from random donations and would like to know if anyone else would be interested in contributing. If so, please contact me at [email protected]

Well, after some VERY generous donations at Knoxville last night, we are currently up to $800 for the Mike Avilla "Carwash Mike" Racer appreciation award. We have some very generous people out there that are helping carry on Mikes legacy!
