Washington this fall. I overheard a conversation at the Friday night National's chicken feed at the turn 4 pit gate after the races between Steve Sinclair and Steve Beitler about doing a I.R.A. Northwest 2 Night tour at both Skagit and Grays Harbor. Sinclair has booked 14 BNSF freight cars for the teams to ship all their cars and support equipment to the Great Northwest for these 2 day shows at Skagit and then on to Grays Harbor. Sinclair says there is a intermodal rail terminal in close proximity to Milwaukee for ease of shipping and AMTRAK has a 30 day go-anywhere for $199 deal for pit crews, drivers and owners.
Sinclair confidant and close friend Howie Gleason (also at this meeting and offering his input) agreed to award the top I.R.A. driver in points after the 2 night shows a new right rear Hoosier tire.
Both Steve S. and Howie were a bit concerned about graffiti tagging in rail yards by roving Latino gangs and thus scratched the initial idea of using actual new car transporting rail cars (that can be accessed rather easily) and went with lockable box cars.
Look for this event to be either late this September or early this October.

I have been a BNSF rate analyst for 25 years and I can assure you that I have not sent any freight bills to Steve Sinclair.

Fact is we don't get into Milwaukee so that would be interline received traffic for us. LOL

While we're dreaming, throw the BMARA and POWRi midgets in some rail cars too. I'll be there.

Funny what beer does to some people. See you at Cedar Lake for the Jerry Richert Memorial Stan.

Hey Stan, I also work for BNSF; mechanical car department in Los Angeles, 16 years. Always good to "meet" fellow hosers with something in common.

You will note that IRA PREZ has not denied nor disavowed this either here or on the I.R.A. website.
The use of the BNSF was discussed last Friday night at the Knoxville turn 4 chicken feed by the 3 mentioned in my original post and none of the parties involved realized the logistical problem of using BNSF rail cars.
Steve S. & Howie just returned this evening after a quick trip to Montreal QC and a meeting with CN Rail officials and CN's possible involvement as sponsors for this 2 day race in a trade out for free transportation to the Great Northwest.
Take this to the bank ..... this blockbuster event is happening.

And how many crew members and drivers will be able to take the time off from work to travel acrossed the country, when the IRA wont run some rain dates on the normal schedule due to drivers having real jobs they need to attend.

The IRA guys don't even go to Knoxville cuz they can't compete. They'd really get hammered out in Washington .
