GREG ALEXANDER SET TO RETURN TO USAC/CRA SERIES AFTER THREE MONTHS OFF!

(San Pedro, CA, August 6, 2014)   San Pedro, California’s Greg Alexander is set to return to the cockpit of the brilliant white Chuck Tyler Motorsports #72 at the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night” race at Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday, August 16th

The three month’s off was hardly in the upcoming star’s 2014 itinerary at the beginning of the year.  After all, he just took his second run in a Jake Hodges built Racecrafters Chassis and he ended up a USAC/CRA career best third against the toughest competition west of the Mississippi.  However, at the series next race at the Ventura Raceway one week later, his engine grenaded in hot laps and the team was done for the night.  Combine that with the engine blowing up on their hauler the night before and the eam took an unplanned summer vacation from racing.

“I can’t wait to get back on the track on the 16th,” Alexander said.  “It seems like such a long time since I raced.  The Racerafter Chassis worked so well the last time at Perris and I ended up with a third place finish.  My spirits were sky high and I could not wait to get back in that car again to see what we could do.  That has probably made it seem like a lot longer than three months for me.  Now I get the chance and I am very excited.”

If one remembers the May 3rd race, conditions may be the same on the 16th.  Unseasonably hot temperatures greeted the teams that day and those temperatures are average for the month of August.

On that night Alexander qualified 16th in the tough 30 car field.  He finished third in his heat placing him straight into the 30-lap main event without having to contest the B main.  He started 14th in the A main and impressively passed 11 cars for a hard earned third place finish and also won the Keizer Wheels “Hard Charger” award by passing more cars than any other driver in the main event.  His impressive drive also earned him a ticket to appear on the San Diego Motorsports Radio Show the following evening.

For the 2014 season, the Chuck Tyler Motorsports entry was sponsored by Racecrafters Chassis Design, Construction & Repairs, Amsoil, Oiltwins.com, CSI Shocks, SC Grafix, Southwest Scale Chassis and Scott Daloisio Sports.

If you would like to get on board and be involved with Greg Alexander's racing efforts in 2014, please give him a call at: (714) 610-4566.

Rob, rather than take a jab at the track that keeps traditional 410 sprint car racing alive in California by running more races than any other track, why not address the other tracks that do not run more of, or any of, the series?  Make not mistake about it, if Don ever pulls the plug on them, traditional 410's will be dead in the state,

Scott i could not agree more about Don and the PAS keeping 410s alive, just saying 11 or 12 shows a year is NOT enough as for other tracks I can't say that I blame them as hardly any of the teams travel.it will be interesting to see how many teams will support stoga and "calif sprint week".

BTW that was not a jab at the PAS but rather at the current sad state of Sprint car racing in SoCal

Plenty of Speedway this weekend!

Pirate Tonight, Industry AMA Round 3 tomorrow, Industry Silver Cup for Junior Speedway Sunday. Noon... Silver Cup is free admission and the kids are every bit as exciting to watch as the adults. Stout field of 250's entered.

Come on down for that one!

All three of those shows, especially Saturday and Sunday, should be very stout.
