We've never been before. Is it worth getting a pit pass for the Nationals? We will be sitting on the backstretch. Is there enough downtime or time before the races start that it's worth it to get a pit pass? How does one go about getting a pit pass upgrade?

Pit pass is higher then normal , most of guys are around after races as they all unload before and reload after races , so it is easy to meet or see your favorite driver . Unless you like to be pits during races then it may be worth it for you , but there is alot of action during Nationals

Passes are $50 a night. Being on the back stretch you would have to walk about half way around the track to turn 4 gate for pit access, there is down time somewhat but in the end your going to end up walking outside the track back and forth more than worth going into the pits. They open them up right after the races and all the teams are there, and it's free. Just go during the day to the surrounding parking lots if you want to see the teams pit, they're usually real friendly.

You cannot go back and forth from the stands to the pits at Knoxville. A pit pass means you are in the pits all night. A grandstand ticket means you are in the stands all night. No pit combo tickets/upgrades.
