Wow, what a show!!!! Sellers put on a heck of a show Saturday night at Lawton. After taking the lead he runs down the whole field and laps all but the second place car. Then I guess someone bitched enough to have the top 5 puffed and fuel tested only to find that ALL were legal. Do you think they will ever change the sprint rules for having the motors torn down after a race?

Some things never change. In the early '70s my Dad was helping Jearl Meeks and they announced they were checking the top 5 in every heat race. It was a slow one as they were all fighting for sixth!

I attended the Festivities at Lawton Saturday night and found the Sprint feature to be quite entertaining. Flips and Crashes , Crashes and Flips ,and the #4 car went through the field like a hot knife through melted butter and the beat goes on,I believe around 8 of the 16 Sprinters that were there sustained some type of damage that ended there evening before the checker flag came out and maybe 2 more were limping across the line at the end. Even watched one driver get out of his car and leave it unattended on a Red Flag and never returned to it, He seemed to be somewhat angry about the Black Flag being shown to him and then being told it was for him on the red while still in his car and he was not happy , so he left. The ol John Deere had to haul er off back to the pit area from the racing surface, That was pretty interesting . I had a heck of a time as I tanned in the Hot sunshine early in the afternoon/evening and with Mike W. bringing Peanut M & M's (which were very tasty) Thanks Mike, just wish they served Ice Tea at Lawton , but Nope they don't either. Dammit!. Oh Well , went by Wayne's Drive In and got a Big Jumbo Ice Tea for the drive home Sat. night as Ol Wayne's does not close up shop til Midnight, Which is dam nice of em. Made for a pleasant ride home with a cup of Ice Tea.

I myself attended the show sat. for the first in a long time and sad to say it was the same old thing. Yes Sellers put on a good show but the same mini stock won again and he even was taunting the drivers during the race which was funny. Wonder where the 21b in the factory stock was at. He always puts on a good show from the back of the pack and yea the modifieds were as boring as always because there were MAYBE two good cars in the whole field. Just curious where are the fast cars like 24-44-22 from okc. - 5 from okc however it was good to see the 21n back in action. And the wrecks were still there as before. Someone needs to tell these guys that when they reach this level of racing they shouldn't be having as many wrecks as they do. Maybe their points racing and some guys are trying to win the race on the first lap and if thats the case thats crazy. I guess winning a track championship is a big thing but don't know why cuz when they go else where and race against other track champions it just shows everyone how weak lawton cars really are. JMO.

Milton: (SSDS) Same Stuff Different Saturday,It is not only trying to win it on the first lap an issue, but holding a line and accepting that your slower than the car behind you and not chopping down on him to try to keep him behind you.Which create Crashes and Flips , Flips and Crashes, Like I said "and the beat goes on" at the Red Clay Oval.

KEL1234: He has an advantage ,he is an employee and that is the benefits ,he probably can smuggle it (ICE TEA) in with no problem. All I will say on this issue is I sure miss Randy Ward announcing.

I also heard on the radio this morning that Bosco's on May Ave. burnt down. No more "A Touch of Class" BUMMER!.

"Fuel testing" is the biggest farce at Lanny's tracks. If you’re running fuel that will fail the weight test you are WAY behind the times. Sometimes he says that he sends it to the lab. Yeah right, that would cost him too much money. Here's a little tech tip, if you see a car with a glowing header towards the back of the muffler (polypropylene oxide), a big orange or yellow flame (also poly), or a really dark blue flame (nitro) they are running illegal fuel. Also, if you see someone putting fuel in RIGHT before they go out...yeah that’s also fuel.

I guess you're the expert Cheese. Does this knowledge come from your own experience by dabbling in the drug scene? Or from what people tell you? I mean when they test the specific gravity of the fuel there isn't much that you can get away with, or is there?

I wasn't talking about anybody in particular if that's why you got your panties in a bunch. There are things called binders that bind the different fuels together and those can also be used to change the weight of the fuel. And yeah, if you know me you know that I am heavy into drugs, drinking, and rock and roll. I'm quite the crazy college student! However, I think what you meant to ask is, "Does this knowledge come from your own experience dabbling in the fuel scene?" because drugs makes no sense. If that is the case then yeah, my record once again proves that I do not run fuel. How many times has my dad been teched in his racing career? How many times has he been found illegal? The answer is none.

PS: I'm not even fast enough to be running fuel...

C'mon SmithRacer , That was a cheap shot. Cheese is just stating his opinion ,which he has a right to, then you come back with an assanine statement like that.

assanine? JD you never fail to suprise as the lingo master. lol.

Cheese you keep up that argument man...........there are far too few that do. From what I understand you almost need a gas mask to breathe if you get in behind any of those cars runnin that stuff. As far as those track testers......I wouldn't know. But I completely agree with Cheese that you can put binding chemicals in to change the weight of the fuel. Thats simple physics. really simple.
