Rusty Schlenk Readies for the Mason-Dixon
(12-05-06)Jackson,
Mi-Rusty Schlenk and the Rusty Schlenk Racing Team are gearing up for
their first indoor racing venture at the Mason-Dixon Dixieland
Challenge at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, MI on December
16th and 17th. Rusty is hoping to cap off a sensational 2006 season by
putting his Russell Baker powered C.J. Rayburn chassis into the winners
circle. After wrapping up the the American Late Model Series
championship, UMP east regional points title, Ohio state UMP
championship, Oakshade Raceway Late Model points championship, and
finishing 3rd in the UMP national points a victory would be the cherry
on top.
When asked about the Mason-Dixon Dixieland Challenge
Rusty said: "With the competition that is going to be there and the
fact that we have never done anything like this I hope to at least put
it in the show both nights. I mean I would like to win it but there are
so many unknowns going into this thing. How do we groove the tires?
What tires do we even run?" When asked about his 2006 championship
season: "I really don't know what to say about it. It's been
unbelievable to me. I look at the stats and they blow me away. If we
can repeat next year what we did this year it would be awesome. I can't
thank the folks that helped me out enough."
The Rusty Schlenk
Racing Team would like to thank the following associates for helping
him to achieve what he has this season: Russell Baker Engines, Rayburn
Chassis, Los Tres Amigos Restaurant, Main and Company, Racers
Connection, Zellers Towing, Complete Truck Repair, and Performance
Automotive.
