The Posse has some of the best local racers going at this time. People keep hammering the "Midwest Maffia" for not being competitve with the Outlaws and at the Nationals. Five of the top 16 "Midwest Maffia" drivers are now Outlaws. Whenever a "Midwest Maffia" driver gets good, they leave for a traveling circus.
Looking at the top 16 drivers in Outlaw points, how many came from the Pennsylvania area and how many ran weekly at Knoxville before joining the World Of Outlaws? The answers to this question should say something.
Pennsylvania has one driver. Tim Shaffer
Knoxville has five drivers. Danny Lasoski, Craig Dollansky, Terry McCarl, Kerry Madsen and Justin Henderson.
Knoxville also had the R19 as a local car for a long time until they went with the circus as well.

The midwest mafia has to travel with the WOO if they want to make a living driving a race car. Sprint car drivers in PA don't have to hit the road to make a living as a sprint car driver. When your region only has 1 weekly 410 track in a 4 hour radius, you hit the road for more money. FACT: Drivers who run for a living in PA race more times a year then the Outlaws do. Its very easy to figure out why more Knoxville regulars have become Outlaws, its a simple matter of geography. Go Brian!

Out of your 6 examples, only 1 is even from Iowa. That means 1 Iowa driver and 1 Pennsylvania driver in top 16 in WoO points. Thanks for bringing that to light even though you tried to MalarkySPiN it.
What's even sillier, Posse bashers won't even admit that Jeff Shepard is a Posse driver. Then you try to claim your 6 examples as Knoxville drivers. Like all Posse bashers, your goofy double standard is laughable at best!

Who cares. A racer is a racer. I couldn't care less where they live, or where they race regular. There is good racing all across the country. 20 drivers with absolutely no chance of ever beating the outlaws can still put on a hell of a show.

I agree with you, oswald. But, it was important enough to shorthair to start another Posse bashing topic. I'm sure that the vast majority of readers and members of this HH message board are interested in sprint car racing and not the More Stupidity Posted Now mentality of the Mutant Sewer Poop Nerd and his small merry band of followers.
It's a shame that many of the topics started on this board are the S.O.S. It's also a real shame that the rest of the topics started to actually discuss sprint car racing are always hijacked by the same P.O.S. trolls and turned into the S.O.S. about the Posse.

Shorthair - You are using a double standard if you claim Lasoski to be from Iowa but disallow Sheppard from PA. Come on now keep it level.
Opp fan - While I agree that it is a shame many threads get hijacked for the Posse vs. World. I don't agree it is all anti-posse doing the hijacking. I think if you would take an honest look back you will find it more 50/50.
71fan - I think you would find quite a few drivers making a living driving sprint cars in the midwest (not just Iowa). Some folks just want to be the best in the Nation not the local area. Some try and fail while more fail to try.
I am not sure why the Posse has not jumped on Tim Schaffer with his 8th place. They actually list him as from PA. I would think the driver filling out the little card that says where he is from would be far more important in determining where he is from. But what do I know. I only see about 60 or 70 nights of racing a year. Not the 100s that an average Posse fan sees.

Johns Racing Photos, This whole anti-Posse crap/ pro-Posse response is not started 50/50. For years, it has been 100% started and stirred by anti-Posse goofs. Any posting that is done pro-Posse, whether it is to reply to an anti-Posse topic, an anti-Posse hijacked topic or even a topic or comment by a pro-Posse poster IS ALL IN RESPONSE TO AND AS A RESULT OF THE JACK@$$ CRAP STARTED FOR YEARS BY GOOFS LIKE MSPN and copycat goofs including YOU! You're getting just like MSPN with those numerous, huge manifestos. One MSPN "retart" (MSPN's word) is one too many without his copycat butt-kissing clones including YOU!

Thanks for the civil response Opp fan. I like many others here like good debate. But without the name calling. If you are not intelligent enough to debate your point without resorting to calling me names then I have no time for you. As such this will be my last post to you until you are man enough to apologize for your uncalled for actions.
If you would have taken the time to read my post I opened it by supporting your claim of Sheppard being Posse. I also said nothing negative about the Posse. Lastly, if you actually knew me and would read my posts you would know I am nothing like Mike. While I consider us friends, I don't always agree with him.
If you do not think that at least half are started by Posse fans that start out by stating Posse is the best and the rest suck then you must not read this board much. If it bothers you that much though, just don't read the board here, because there really is only two topics of discussion:
The POSSE is the greatest!!!
No there NOT!!!!

Midwest MOFFIA...lol. The Posse comes in there to try to win the thing even though they only make the tow once a year. Even the Outlaws get to run Knoxville several times a year. Current Williams Grove point leader came in and won prelim last three years in a row and solidly put it in the A. Knoxville point leader B-Main Brian Brown struggles to even make the show, and he's even got the fact that he's not from Iowa going for him...lol.

please produce STATS of how many home track WINS these 5 had against the WoO before "they determined that they were good enough to go on the road"?
or are you simply fabricating a legacy of greatness to bolster an erroneous claim...
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Big - I don't think it had anything to do with how many times they beat the WOO before they left for the road. They got tired of beating the same dozen or so guys each week. That is what put them on the road. To attempt to achieve what only a few have. A National Championship.
However, of the "five" how many are actually from Iowa? That being said - The midwest is more than just Iowa.

If you re-read my origional post, I didn't once say that Lasoski was from Iowa. I stated that he ran Knoxville on a weekly basis.
I would also like you to find where I stated that Jeff Shepard wasn't Posse. I didn't get into that discussion. I personally think that is should be considered Posse since that is where he is running all year.

I didn't once bash the Posse in my post. I believe that I stated that I feel they do have the best weekly racers in the country right now. How is that bashing them. I follow the Posse as much as I go to Knoxville. I apologize if you took this that I was bashing the Posse. I have more respect for them then I do the Outlaws.

Never said you were anti-posse. Nor did you say Sheppard was not Posse. You said PA has only one driver Tim Shaffer. I guess if you can spin that to mean whatever you want I see it as not included Jeff as Posse.
You also did not say Danny was from Iowa. You said Knoxville has 5 drivers with him being one of them. Again, I guess it is a spin thing.

i agree...those guys built way too many corn fields between the race tracks. if a driver tows thru all that corn to race locally in Iowa, then they should be claimed.
i like the spin you put out there to avoid a solid statistic...maybe Bill W can weigh in and give some real numbers. using that reasoning, you should send those 5 here and within a few weeks our guys would get tired of pounding them and take to the "road". since they only have 3 total wins spread over hundred total attempts, we will welcome a few extra cars for the consi.
since they would have to learn to run our format...you might want to pad their pockets with some "start up" capital so they dont have to take out a line of credit in the pizza line.

This whole posse argument gets old. But, I suppose a lot of the people that hash this over and over don't mind eating bologna sandwiches for every meal and watching Gilligan's Island re-runs. (Maybe this time they'll get saved!)
I go to knoxville every weekend. I wouldn't have even considered comparing the posse to the mafia (horrible name), or even the WoO. I enjoy watching all the drivers and looking at their cars.
From what I have seen, when the PA cars come to Kville, they bring some really nice stuff. Ti stops, cockpit adjustable gas shocks, Ti brakes, Ti bolts, just everything is nice. There are some good cars at Kville, but it seems like the cost of racing a killer unit is getting to some of the teams. I'm not putting anyone down, but it appears that the quality of cars is starting to suffer a bit. It looks like guys are only spending what they can afford, and i think that's a good thing.
I like watching Rahmer and Dewease at Knoxville, but I have to wonder how well the average PA racer would do. Knoxville has lost a lot of their big names that used to run weekly. If PA lost your top 5 guys, how do you think the next level of guys would do?

but there is a lot more prestige and competition in WoO. PA is the best local scene...........LOCAL scene............it's not a fair overall comparison to match them against WoO. One is local and the other is National.
geography. yes. Thats why Jason Martin, Sam Hafertepe, Tony Bruce, and Zach Chappell hit the road with the WoO. There is no money to be made racing against ascs and Gary Wright. That series will be in a lot of trouble if Wayne Johnson and Jason Johnson ever end up where they really belong----410's. They'll only be able to run National tour races coinciding with regional races at regional hot spots. sorry. thats neither here nor there.
