I have been going to the knoxville nationals since 1993 but have never been to a kings royal. We always say this is the year we are going to go but never do. This year however we decided to drive up from arkansas Saturday morning just to go to the race. I do not have tickets yet so I'm curious on a few things. What are some good places to sit. We were looking at section NO in the bleachers in turn 3, are those decent seats and do they have access to all the concession stands and bathrooms. For instance if I wanted to go to the main grandstand concession area would I be able to do it from those seats? Also what is the rain out policy? If they have Friday night get rained out do they move that to Saturday and then Saturday nights race to Sunday? I have never been to the track before so this is all new to me. thanks for any help!

went to the royal last year and had a blast.  get there early  1pm or so and park up near the entrance where the shade trees are, you won't regret it EVER.  the sun is brutal...

bring lawn chairs and sit on the grass in turn three, best seats in the house bar none & close to everything on that side. the entire track can be seen there without getting a kink in you're neck! met some cool possie guys there form york, good times

bring goggles, plenty of water,  and shade hats.  and if the STP hauler with the #15 ride of donnys is there stop by and say helo to Chief, the rig driver, great guy...

most of al have a great time.  u doing the doty classic tht week also??  withing 20 miles of eldora..................and most of all enjoy.

PS.  buy the 50/50 raffel tickets early both days, the winners share lat year was 12K worth of cash taken home......huge

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

Usually tickets aren't a problem, but get there early to take in the whole experience.  The Eldora web page has a list of what is going on and when, ask anyone in the parkinglots for directions to them.  If you sit in turn 3 there is a limited concession stand and nice bathrooms in four but you can walk from turn 3 under the grandstands to the main concession and bathrooms, also bar area.  Then if you continue down to turn 1 most of the drivers and others have tee shirt trailers.  One great weekend, can't wait to go.

I have been going to almost every sprint car race there for the past 6-7years. Bleachers in turn 3 are fine, gives you a great view of the cars coming down the back streatch and through 3 an 4. I normally sit in the main grandstands just because it gives you a better feel for how fast they go around that place and go into and out of the turns. There is a concession stand on the suite's building as well as one just outside of turn 4. There is a restroom attached to that concession stand. Souveniers are outside the turn 1 area and there they have eldora merchandise, and the several of the drivers merchandise as well. They have a good walking path that connects all areas of the the track.

Make sure to take cash because typically the lots fill up and you will have to park in one of the lots across the street. The rain out policy is typically if Friday rains out then it is cancelled completely, no rain out date. If saturday is rained out then it gets moved to Sunday. Honestly I would probably buy a pit pass on one of the days as you are able to sit whereever you want as long as no one has purchased those seats. Watch the cars from the inside of the track and see how they go around the place. You will not be dissapointed.

the hill in1 & 2 is underrated in my opinion. obviously wear some shades, but seeing jac or saldana bounce the,rr off the turn 2 wall is worth the price of admission. i havent been since 09 but, they dont let u bring beer in,  they sell beer at the bar on the front stretch.

Don't figure you'll be taking in many of the prerace festivities after driving up from AK that morning. Been goin to the place since I was a kid and just turned 55, ouch. You don't say how many are in your party but if there are only a couple it might pay you to call and check on reserved seating. you might luck out and still find a pair of decent seats. Decent in my book is anything on the front straight between the flag stand and turn 1 that is high enough to see over the haulers in the infield. That would be the top 12 or so rows in the main grandstand or the first couple of sections in the south bleachers including SA which is non alcoholic. The seats you mentioned in section NO would also be good seats as far as the view goes and no trouble to find concessions or restrooms from, we sat there for a few races some years back and enjoyed it, however if you want to go to the main grandstand concession area or the souvenier trlrs its a good little trip especially after the joint gets crowded. I've sat all over the place thru the years and I keep comin back to the place I recommended. Biggest thing for me in turn three is the sun is in your face till it goes down and in mid july it takes awhile or maybe I'm gettin soft. I know you gotta big drive that day just to get there but you should try to make hot laps and tt if possible. Hey you're payin for it and it's part of the show. Kinda envy folks like you that I see on here that are goin there for the first time. You're in for a treat. Been to a bunch of places over the years but there is NO PLACE like Eldora. Travel safe and enjoy my friend.

Use to sit in grandstands but now we LOVE sitting in turn 1 grass with lawn chairs. It is right by restrooms, food, and drivers souvineers. By yourself a cooler of beer and sit back and enjoy the show. I would expect a very large crowd this year as i "heard" they are having record ticket sales. If you get here early enough, take a stroll threw the camp grounds behind turn 3. You can easily find some people to do a little bench racing. Glad you are coming up, you will not be dissapointed. PS-bring or buy googles it usually gets pretty dusty, it is called dirt racing wink

The best seats in the house are the turn 4 terrace! You might get lucky and find someone selling extra tickets for that area. My son and I went last year without tickets, as we walked up to the ticket booth a guy asked if we wanted reserved seats. He had 2 in turn 4, so you never know.Sitting in turn 1 and 2 in the grass sucks, all you see is wings going by. Grandstand is good but  it is pretty tight. My son and I will be in turn 4, row 2, "seats" 89 and 90. Get ready for the fastest half mile dirt track on the planet!!!

Also be sure to buy 50/50 tickets because the Winners share of the 50/50 last year was not claimed. At an early event I was at they said the 50/50 for saturday would start out at 10k!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have been going to knoxville for 20 years so I am not new to the dirt and dust that comes with dirt track racing. I have always wanted to go to eldora so we decided to make the trip this year. It's 10 hours from here in Arkansas so we should be able to make it there by 3 that afternoon. The website looks like they still have a lot of good reserved seats available so I plan on calling them on Thursday if it doesn't look like rain this weekend and getting tickets ordered. Any more advice would be great!

This will be about my 10th Kings Royal.  We used to sit in the covered grandstand right behind the start/finish line.  They are great seats, but if it's hot it is absolutely brutal sitting there.  It gets so hot in there you can barely stand it.  Furthermore, I usually get stuck sitting behind some 300+ pound slob with a stadium chair.  The last couple years we've been sitting up high in turn 1 and love it there.  Much cooler and the view is also pretty good.

Most def the concession stand. Food all is badass. In my experience there is nothing cooler than at least watching hot laps from the fence in 3 and 4. Specially when a car runs the bottom right by you at 135 mph. Awesome

Remember the first time you see the track!!!  It will last your entire life time.  I was lucky the frist time I saw the track we walk in during the Friday night Hot Laps for the Night Before the Kings Royal.  I drop the cooler and had to pick up the ice, pop and water AFTER the cars had stopped running.

The track is amazing and I would say after the race stay and go on the track and in the pits.  At that time you dont need a pit pass.  Just remember there's going to be a big line to enter the track under the flag stand.

See you all there Smile

Been going to Eldora for over 20 years now, I always enter the track at the turn 4 gate and walk along the seat wall scoping out who'a haulers are all in the pits. Still get chills every time!

You really want to watch something badass. Go into the pits & stand between turns 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 & watch the drivers drive the car.
