Here we go with another ridiculous thread, ok your right XXX chassis is just as good as any American chassis and brad sweets wreck proves it. Is that your point? Guess what , in certain crashes it doesn't matter what your driving.

If they still use the GF1 then I believe they are American Made.

sweet twittered thanks to Ti22 (chassis) arai (helmet) and butler built (seats) for basically saving his ass. from what i understand, he hit a secion of wall that sticks out and the car broke in 2 pieces. in theory, it did its job, keeping the cockpit intact and the driver alive.

Actually no StaggerLee, that was not my point. Truthfully this is just a poke at Minthess & Cubicdollars and guys like them. I really could care less, that hit would have caused this damage to ANY car that would have been involved in it. I just find it amusing that the XXX bashers are quiet every time an American car comes apart like this.

From what we heard at the track he hopped McCarl's right rear wheel and headed for the wall. It was hard to see exactly what happened from where I was standing. All we saw were flying parts.

We had all heard the same thing at the track, that they were GF1 cars, but obviously that is wrong if Sweet thanked another company.
Of course, Congratulations to Brad Sweet on his performance the following night. We are ALL happy to see that he made it through this in fine shape.

He hit there. Stood the big tire up and hit the blunt end of the concrete wall that the tire supposedly protects. There is a second wall above the first and is made of concrete slabs backed up by dirt. That is what he hit the end of. No reason for there to be a blunt end there in the first place. Don't know why the owners of this place do not fix it instead of just laying a big tire in front of it.

His car was up on the wall before he got to that spot. That is why he hit the blunt end with the ceter of the car.

You XXX scum are the ones who are always running your mouths trying to prove you're not traitors.
One, triplejunk don't go fast enough to come apart like that. That's why no one in the Outlaws will run one.
Two, in the same crash with a china express frame, he would have been lying in the middle of the track in nothing but his seat when all was said and done.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

I think the years may be getting to you cubic - what used to be sharp-witted banter has turned into a sad repeating doldrum of nonsense.

Chad Hillier had a similar crash going into Turn 3 at an IRA show at 34 several years ago. Not nearly as bad but enough to junk the frame out. From what I remember, he got up towards this spot as well.

Yikes..... I would think that spot on the track is slated for a rework before next season I imagine. That spot is just asking for it. That spot should have never been put together like that.

all cars if you hit frame right frame tubes will break. That is how front axels get out of cars when the front of frame breaks. He must have hit it just right to do so and was probably doing 100mph. What is bad is that when chomemoly tubes break they are just like razor blades. It is interesting that NASCAR cars do not use chromemoly metal in construction.

I completely agree linbob, ANY car would have come apart under same circumstances.

I wanted to take the whole thread down Paintboss, but I accidentally chose the wrong remove button and only pulled the 1st post down. My intention was only to leave it up short term, just kind of like a poke at those who constantly rip on other chassis manufacturers, but I guess that did not work out all that well.
This car was not surviving that hit no matter who built the chassis, and I know this, but every time there is a xxx car that comes apart we are bombarded with images and vitriol regarding the manufacturer, so turn about is fair play.
I have a few photos of the chassis should you want to see them.

That's cool, I just wondered. That photo was pretty amazing as to how vulnerable his feet & legs were exposed after the crash and the fact that he did not injure his lower extremities worse. I thought the Motor Plate was still attached to the Cock Pit portion of the car. And I agree with you, ANY Chassis was doomed in this situation. Hopefully the folks at 34 Raceway are Proactive or Reactive, what ever way they need to view this to Remedy this Situation from happening again.
