Thats the worst A main entry list Ive witnessed at Skagit since first going in late 80's. What a joke. I was told they had 360's and sportsmen mixed in to the total 30 car count. Glad I didnt waste my money on that mess. What a shame, it use to be first class top notch field and was considered a feat if you won. No longer, its a joke.

Not sure where your rant is intended, but from my perspective, it should be centered on economics, plain and simple. There use to be a heck of alot more teams from Ca than 5 going making this trip and there also use to be alot more quality local cars from Wa & Or there. Now, look at what there is. It appears that 410 racing might be in serious jeopardy up there if they dont have a solid field of 410 cars weekly. Now days, you have less drivers that race for a living, and more that race for the sport/hobby who cant afford to take the time off work plus the expense of traveling that far. This event has been in decline for a few years as far as # of travelers from Ca. Now it appears even the Oregon teams are staying away, and it isnt because this race is paying any less than it did 10 yrs ago.

It's still a great event worth supporting in my opinion. The car count isn't near what it used to be no doubt about it but if fans stop supporting Dirt Cup it will go away in it's current form and 410 racing will completely die in the area. I love sprints of all kinds but nothing beats the thrill of watching a winged 410 feature, even if it's only a handfull of them.

It's also worth nothing that the ASCS NW Speedweek kicks off Sunday night in Yreka, CA.

Maybe its because fans are sick of watching more grader racing that actual racing. 1 hour and 20 minutes of track prep between the B-Main and A-Main is enough to upset even the most loyal fans and keep them at home.

Hey, here's a shocker, tonight was rained out up there. But according to some, that hardly every happens during Dirt Cup.

Morning show cancelled, no real surprise here, except for the locals apparently.
