ummmm..............in looking at the TV schedule and the highlights of programming the description they have of the Knoxville Nationals is the National SPrint Tour and the WoO taking on local and regional competitors..................sound like someone needs to get their info UP TO SPEED. hehe, thats a punchline I just could not help.
Anyhoot with the programming starting at 9pm what races will they show...........any sprint car racing on tv is cool, but they degrade what could be by just showing the B and A Main. Someone please tell me that its gonna be taped delayed by about an hour and they will show the D and C as well?????
What will they show during the 3 hours of broadcasting?
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a

I heard the legendary Roger Slack of Lowes Motor Speedway left an "awesome wedding reception" to go and watch the show. This says a lot for dirt and sprint car racing.

I did and if the show keeps rolling along, I'll be back to it before midnight (Cambridge, OH time). Gotta love the push button sandwiches from Sheetz.

The only thing they could have done better is to have told us where the C & B racers were from. After all it is The Nationals. This could get the armchair fans interested in attending their local tracks. They had a lot of down time. They didn't have to do an driver intro like for the A, but it wouldn't have taken that long.
And why can't they get the hometowns right? When Paul McMahan started racing, was he towing from Tennessee to Northern California every weekend? It's like 30 years ago in NASCAR when the media kept saying ALL of the drivers were from North Carolina.

i thought the coverage was pretty good. i had the car packed & was ready for the trip west, then i threw my back out of whack!! watched from the couch!!! the one thing i didn't understand, is when the drivers' intros were going on, they didn't stop to interview anyone until they got to Lasoski? i thought their coverage leaned towards him quite a bit.....seems to me there was a lot of other stuff they could have been talking about other than "the Dud"!!! oh yea, as i was laying there in agony, after the "B" i told the Mrs that it would be an hour before the "A", because they had until 1am on their time slot.......i almost hit dead right!!! (that must have been fun in the stands!!) anyway, Mother & i should be healing soon & are looking forward to next yr!!! yes, i know the "tv" & the need to get the cars ready.....but an hour???!!! hope everyone had fun & got home safely!!

it seemed like the coverage was prescripted so that the cameras knew who to follow based on their past performaces at Kville. certain drivers were getting mentions when they we not even on camera, let alone making moves on the track. so much for a local sponsor thinking that they would get national TV exposure, except for ZEMCO! you know the racing must be boring when mid pack Lasoski / Shepard battle is on the air for several laps.

Yes I did have a great time. I was at the racetrack, it was the Nationals. I was in no hurry to leave. I didn't even notice it was an hour between the A & B! All of you complaining about the show on TV, I'm sure your set has more than 1 channel.

Mr. O....i'm not complaining.....christ, if you read my post, i had every intention of being there!!!!!i'm just saying that what the people who are in control of the tv are saying.....they want to promote sprint car racing , well then promote the sport, not just certain aspects of it. not once during the telecast did they show any of the "4 days of the ntls" as they refered to many times...nor did they mention the world challenge, but were quick to point out the Au. drivers......one hour to pass on tv,,,, one would have surmised that they could have filled the slot with more info for the newer sprint fans.....as i was told that that was what they want to do......that was told to me by the very people who do the tv shows!!! Glad you had a great time & you got home safe! hope to see ya at the track!!

I'm going to guess that everyone complaining about the hour between races has never worked on a car. Do you really think that on a night as big as the Nationals with the payout what it is that you want to make your way through the B and quickly thrash out any changes needed to the car and think you have a chance to win? There is nothing worse than the 10 minute turn-around between races when you transfer. I think they did it right. Most people come to Nationals for at least 4 days if not the full 10. Judging by the amount of people still hanging out after we got the car loaded around 2:00, I don't think too many people were worried about getting home early.
