Ocean View, DE – After two seasons of inconsistent results, Curt Michael and the BBJG Racing 5g team have found their groove once again in URC competition. For the second time this season, Michael parked the Bill Gallagher owned Rider Racing Engine powered XXX in victory lane at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night.

“It feels like we’re back to where we used to be, when we unloaded and everyone knew they had to beat us on a nightly basis” said Curt post race. The Ocean View, DE native is a former 8 time champion with the URC Series and has won nearly everything there is to win on the East Coast, but circumstances, both on and off the track, had put the veteran driver in a position he was unfamiliar with – struggling to find speed. “In 2012, we ran a lot of 410 stuff and had no handle at all – my crew chief at the time and I could never come to consensus on what we were doing, and that started us down a path that we couldn’t drive out of. Then in 2013, my wife Jenn got sick and I gave her and our family all of my time and energy – racing took a backseat, and thank god Bill stuck with me, because he deserves to see this car winning races and that’s what we’re doing again.”

Saturday night started strong for the #5g with Curt winning his heat race. Starting the main event in 7th, Curt quickly moved forward on the field, grabbing third place early in the race and setting sail for the front two. After disposing of Troy Betts, Michael worked around slower cars and waited for opportunity to show itself. That opportunity came around on lap 17 as the high groove opened wide up, and Curt used it to get around leader Josh Weller and into the lead. From there, Michael continued his march, easing his way to victory, his second of 2014 with both coming at Grandview.

“It’s funny, of all the places, Grandview had always stumped me. Now, with our new crew chief and me being able to focus on just driving, we’ve won twice here and been really good everywhere else. We have great power, the car rolls any groove I want it to and rotates the center of the corner perfect and Bill has given me everything I need to go win for him, “ said Michael.

Curt Michael and the BBJG #5g will continue racing various 360 and 410 events around the Northeast. The team is sponsored by Valley Forge Inc, GEI Enterprises, Heffner Racing Enterprises, Kruger Trailers Inc and many more. The 5g is powered by Rider Racing Engines and uses XXX Chassis.
