Anyone have an extra hotel room reserved close to Knoxville? Would rather not do the Des Moines drive

Did you try Pella? Even if their sold out put your name on the cancellation list and you'll likely get a call.

I had a friend from Aus who made return reservations before he left last year and they informed him they had messed up his reservation and I had to find him a room with a friend here. I would contact the Chamber of Commerce and talk to Melinda at 641-828-7555. They hook up people with homes and I have been doing it for 11 years and have met great people and cultivated life long friendships. I am full with returning guests or I would offer. I think if you try it you will really be glad you did.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Stay with a Knoxville family, it is simply the best for many reasons and it won't take you long to figure them out. The town has a great sense of civic duty and warmth towards their visitors as you will find out and enjoy. The racing is certainly your top priority but you will find meeting new friends from all over a close second by the end of the week, good luck...
